Interesting Research on Omega-3 Fats and Weight Management

Omega-3 fatty acids are fats found in foods such as fish and nuts. They play many important roles in the body. New research shows they impact weight management by influencing the formation of new fat cells—and that’s a good thing.

There are antenna-like structures that extend from the surface of the cell known called cilia. They are designed to pick up and send cellular signals. Defects in the cilium are known to be associated with obesity and insulin resistance, but the reasons have been unclear. Researchers discovered that the cilium can sense omega-3 fats in the diet and signal the stem cells in fat tissue to divide and turn into new fat cells.
Without the signal to initiate the formation of new cells to store fat, existing fat cells become larger. It’s better to have more small fat cells than fewer, larger fat cells. The larger the cells are the more likely they are to be linked to insulin resistance, other health conditions, and to the release of toxic contents.

This research opens up a new and exciting area of study involving omega-3 fats, and re-emphasizes the importance of eating a diet that includes healthy fats, especially the polyunsaturated fats you know as omega-3s.

【确诊隔天快筛呈阴不代表痊愈‼️‼️】

当我们确诊冠病后隔天快筛呈阴,这代表我们已经完全痊愈了吗?答案是否定的。

日前,有一名“跑步男”在抖音上分享,自称自己快筛呈阳,隔天去跑步10公里出了一身汗,当晚二检即呈阴,引起了不少医生及卫生部的关注纷纷分享正确资讯希望民众不要被误导。

大马医药推特平台(MedTweetMY)就在推特上发文为大家做科普时表示,快筛检测从阳性转为阴性,并不代表病患已经痊愈。

该推文出示一张图表示,抗原快筛(RTK)只有病患在接触病毒3至7天内,体内的病毒载量达致高峰时才会被测出呈阳。

换言之,当病患在早于或迟过这段时间,体内病毒载量低于一定数量时做快筛,就不一定能准确地检测成阳。

“所以即使你的快筛检测从阳转阴也不一定代表你已经痊愈,可以自由了。”

推文也说,患者快筛呈阳后,并不需要每一天快筛,期间即便发现快筛呈阴了也不代表可以结束隔离;所有确诊患者都必须隔离7至10天。

“如果是第一阶段至第三阶段的病患,在家隔离7至10天就足够了,之后病毒不会再有传染性,但仍然必须严格遵守标准作业程序。”
