⏰ Daylight Saving Time Begins — Spring Forward! ⏰

Don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour at 2:00 AM on Sunday, March 8th. As we “spring forward” and welcome longer daylight hours, it’s also the perfect time to take a few minutes to focus on home safety.

🔋 Check Your Smoke Detectors
• Test each alarm in your home using the test button.
• Replace batteries if needed (even if they’re not fully dead).
• Make sure there is a working smoke alarm on every level of your home and inside sleeping areas.
• Replace any smoke detector that is more than 10 years old.

🛑 Check Your Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detectors
• Test units to ensure they are functioning properly.
• Replace batteries as needed.
• Confirm CO detectors are located near sleeping areas and on every level of your home.
• Replace CO units according to manufacturer recommendations (typically every 5–7 years).

🔥 Why It Matters
Working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors save lives. Smoke alarms can cut the risk of dying in a home fire in half, and carbon monoxide detectors provide early warning against a colorless, odorless gas that can be deadly.

📝 Bonus Safety Tips
• Review your family’s fire escape plan and practice it.
• Make sure everyone knows two ways out of each room.
• Check fire extinguishers to ensure they are fully charged and accessible.
• Keep emergency numbers posted and easily accessible.

Taking just a few extra minutes when you change your clocks can make a life-saving difference for you and your family.

Stay safe and enjoy the extra daylight! 🌷
