Now the season of lessons for the autumn is loaded on here. See Events.
They are scheduled for the wrong time as I am in the States atm, and so when I get back to the UK, they will convert naturally to the 7pm BST/GMT I am hoping for.

See you in the fall!

Are you looking for a way of exercising your mind, body and soul that is intelligent, playful and deeply beneficial? Well I may just have the right stuff for you. As of September I will back to teaching Awareness Through Movement. ( Feldenkrais Method) To start with once a week on Zoom. Lessons to improve your posture, movement, breathing and thinking. Too good to be true? No! It’s just very clever. It works on the simple idea that the more awareness you have of what you actually do, the more your nervous system wants to help you do whatever it is more easily. And the more easily you achieve things the more space opens up to develop skills in areas you had hitherto not even known about. It’s win, win, win! Develop your curiosity to find deeper happiness. All welcome. Just click on the Zoom link when the time comes, and I’ll let you in. All you need is a space on the floor and a willingness to slow down for a bit and the world is literally…still the world, but you’ll feel a bit better about it. Promise,Tuesday evenings at 7pm BST, and then GMT. 45 minutes. Lush.

Hi.
I’m off to France for a month.
It’s a working break.
I will be firstly doing a week-long workshop with Joiner and -Anne Jemmett with Travelling Theatre. From then on I will be going to Quinson in Provence to work on a clown juggling street theatre piece with the help of legendary BP ZOOM. It’s been 30 years in the waiting and now I am going to push it to the top of my to do list and actually perform it. Watch this space! 😬🤡🤩
I am going to off socials for the month and when I return offer up an exciting new package for those of you who want to practice Feldenkrais with me as well as continue training to prepare myself physically and vocally for a return to performance both on stage and in the street in 2024. I will also be building up to the publication of Shakespeare and Lecoq written by myself and Rokison-Woodall. I hope to persuade as many of you as possible to buy a copy. Although the title sounds niche, the book will be of interest to anyone who is interested in the creative process as well as actors, directors and teachers.
Have a great month my friends.

I have a confession to make. It is an addiction. Something that was introduced to my life as a pre-teen and still persists. I am a golfer! Why the hullaballoo? Well, golf and the people who, mainly, play it do not have a great reputation amongst my colleagues and followers. I am not going to dwell o...

Had a superb time yesterday refreshing my somatic soul with .willsher.9 and .of.the.day in Norfolk yesterday. We were doing or as it sometimes referred to “trusting the invisible”. They led the day with great skill and humanity and I felt inspired and moved to open myself up to the world inside and outside of me as a result. Deeply nourishing stuff. And in case you’ve not heard of it, Authentic Movement came out of dance therapy in the 60s. It involves closing your eyes and moving or being moved though the space or in stillness asking you to attend to your inner witness for an allotted period of time. We did 20 mins and then 30 mins. You then get a chance to process via words, meditation or drawing before talking through a moment whilst the leader “witnesses” and shares back what they noticed about the same moment. Great fun and ( in the true sense of the word).

A new season of Isolation Consolation is starting at 9am BST over on Facebook. Come and join me and the 2000 members of the group to win that chance of feeling calmer, better and more curious than ever. Just go to Facebook. Pop the words isolation and consolation into the search bar, and I will be live st 9am. If you are not a member of the group then simply join it! See you in a bit. ( In fact for isolation consolation you can see me but I can’t see you!) that actually makes it more relaxing-you do your thing and I won’t know!! You have to join The Flourishing Human if you want to do Feldenkrais with me and be seen! I will explain that in here soon. X

Top tip for Edinburgh!

I had a small part to play in a terrific new play by Sam Potter going to the Pleasance called The Unicorn.
It is brilliantly acted by the multi-roling, Georgie Litman and beautifully directed by Anthony Lee.

It’s on at 6.30 pm at The Green ( Pleasance)-same venue as the excellent Ben Moor earlier in the day.

I did a day’s movement/actor coaching on this show and it was in all my 30 years as a theatre professional about the most enjoyable days work ever. Georgie was incredibly open, brave and responsive. Anthony is a wonderful collaborator and Sam said at lunch that she wished I was there whenever she wrote-so I must have been doing something right!! 😊

I saw the finished product a few weeks later in preview in Oxford and can report back, hand on heart, that this is a great way to spend an hour of your Edinburgh time. It’s grown up, meticulously performed and treads a very interesting line between s*x, and s*xy.

A Sense of Movement.

We all need movement to keep fit. But have you asked yourself what “fitness” really means? What do you want to be fit for? A race? To attract partners? To feel good? No doubt. But recently people have started to question the push hard, gym-tastic lifestyle that has become so popular over the last 20 or 30 years. During that time there has been an intrepid band of entrepreneurs investigating the inner reaches of the nervous system and applying the science of neuro-adaption to people’s everyday lives as well as transforming the practice of countless artists, dancers, musicians and athletes. It’s called the Feldenkrais Method.

I teach Feldenkrais via what I call A Sense of Movement because it is not just moving that is important, it is how you use that movement to improve your brain and your body that is going to be vital to your long-term health. So, whether you are fit but are wondering what it’s all about or in chronic pain and want a solution to get back to some sort of normal life, please have a browse of the posts here and if you like what you see you can travel on over to my website and get involved: www.asenseofmovement.com
