Do you find yoursrlf constantly trying to please others? Do your values sometimes feel off kilter? Todays peer support session was on the importance of authenticity. Aligning with your true self, rather than who you think you should be, helps reduce internal conflict, calms the nervous system and helps you live your best life. It helps to improve your relationship with yourself and others. All leading to increased energy and vitality.

Why are things sometimes easier than others? Today I have been at the allotment trying to light a fire. I'm usually quite good at this, but today it was difficult despite my best efforts and doing nothing different to usual. I realised that there were several conditions were not helping. The wood was wet and there was no wind.
It got me thinking, about pacing. There are many determinants that impact on energy levels. We cannot and should not try to control all these things. In fact fighting can take away energy.
It is worth taking stock, listening to your body and what is going on around you, nurturung yourself, resting when it feels right and fueling yourself in what brings you joy. Acceptance is not about giving in, its about being aware that things change, trying again or being ok that next time may go differently. This is what I did with my fire!

Life!
Stuff happens.
Illness, Trauma, relationship issues! -It can be hard.

We naturally hold onto these things to keep our future selves safe. Sometimes, the known, however hard it is is easier to have than the unknown. But here is the thing. If we hold on to these things or let it define us, it can sap our energy. It is like a program running constantly in the background.
With support and practice, we can learn to let go of some of this baggage.
Here at The Chrysalis Effect, we can help you with this, it is part of our program, we have trained trauma release specialists and our practitioners are trauma informed. There has been found to be link between trauma and chronic illness.

Nature has many lessons.
One of its greatest gifts to me has been showing me the value of slowing down. It's by slowing down that you notice and become more connected with yourself and the things around you. This has knock on effects to your health and wellbeing.
At the Chrysalis Effect, we have noticed time and time again that people with exhaustive conditions to be type A, previously busy people. But it can be much more beneficial and productive to take a break and slow down. Nature is a prime example that everything will be achieved
What will you do to slow down?

Do you feel exhausted just completing your daily tasks and observations?
Are these things that you want to to do or feel you "need" to do or "should" do?

You will know well that if you have a condition like ME, CFS, Fibromyalgia or Long covid that you often have a limited amount of energy.

Sometimes, prioritising things give you joy and things that you value can be key to your health, wellbeing and happiness. These do not have to be big things that turn into obligations themselves. They can be little moments that bring you a smile, bring purpose or give you something to look forward to.

Today, I have planned a mini retreat to my craftroom. I have some uplifting music on and am going to spend an hour lost in drawing repetitive patterns just for me and just for fun. What will you do?

With Warmest wishes from Sally and The Chrysalis Effect team.
