When pain sticks around, it’s often because the nervous system hasn’t switched off. Muscles stay tight, movement feels guarded, and the body stays on high alert. Western medical acupuncture helps interrupt that cycle by calming irritated nerves, easing muscle tension and changing how pain signals are processed. Many people notice a deep sense of relaxation during treatment, followed by gradual improvements in movement and comfort. If persistent muscle or joint pain is limiting you, this approach could help your body settle and recover. Call 020 8812 3733 or email enquiries@intphysmed.com

January is when old pains make themselves known again. Backs, hips, knees, shoulders that were “fine” suddenly aren’t. Most of the time it isn’t a new injury. It’s a reactivation. December sitting patterns, long drives, different beds and less movement reduce circulation and joint motion. When normal life resumes, the body exposes what it’s been compensating for. Understanding that difference matters, because old patterns need different solutions than new injuries. If something has resurfaced this month, call 020 8812 3733 or email enquiries@intphysmed.com.

Every January I see people do the same thing. They go straight back to the gym at full speed, expecting their body to respond like it’s been training all year. But December usually means less movement, more sitting, tighter hips, stiffer spines and slower joints. When you load that suddenly, something complains. It’s not because you’re weak. It’s because the body hasn’t been prepared. A smarter January is about restoring movement first, then adding load. If your body hasn’t responded the way you expected this month, call 020 8812 3733 or email enquiries@intphysmed.com.
