Wes Nelson, LMT, LMTI

Wes Nelson, LMT, LMTI I am the Licensed Massage Therapist for the University of Texas at Arlington. I have had the pleasure of working on over 1100 individuals at the university.

I have been licensed since August 2014 and have worked for UTA since February 2015. It began when I was 19 with an accident resulting in back surgery. Physical therapy was my introduction to massage therapy. However, due to physical complications I allowed pain to take over my life and before I knew it, I was an inactive, extremely overweight, unhealthy person. In 2011, I had a wakeup call when the lives of two close family members were affected by lung cancer. Fighting for their life, I realized like so many people needing therapy for pain management, I needed to fight for mine. I dedicated my life to learning proper nutrition, how foods affect inflammation of the body, and how physical activity and massage therapy can benefit everyone; from those with stress related tension to those whose lives are being overtaken by severe pain. Thanks to massage therapy, changes to my diet, and a lot of hard work, I am now able to once again enjoy fishing, bowling, exercising, hiking, camping, etc. In June 2014, I realized my dream and graduated from Hill College’s Massage Therapy program and was soon licensed by the State of Texas to perform therapeutic massage. In February 2015, I was blessed to be hired on as the licensed massage therapist at the University of Texas at Arlington.
