We’re making the NDIS stronger. That's why we're making the NDIS easier to understand and use.

We’re committed to ensuring the NDIS is fairer, easier to navigate, and more flexible to support participants to work towards their goals.

By investing in more responsive, stronger systems and fairer processes we'll make sure the NDIS continues to meet demand while continuing towards Scheme sustainability.

These reforms, shaped with the disability community, are about protecting what works and improving what matters so that the NDIS can support the people who need it today, and for generations to come.

Para-athletes in NT now have greater access to training and support. 💪🏼

A dedicated facility in Darwin will provide them with enhanced opportunities, including access to purpose-built training environments, specialised coaching and performance support.

‘The Para Uplift is a game changer for sport in this country’, said Matti Clements, Australian Sports Commission Executive General Manager of AIS Performance.

‘Not only is it creating an environment of equal opportunity for all athletes, but through the power of sport we are reshaping how all Australians look at disability.’

Para Sport Units are already operating in South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia. Additional facilities are currently in development in Tasmania and the ACT.

With the support of a dedicated team, Jacinta is able to read her online course modules which are translated and embossed onto paper in both English and Japanese Braille.

'I’ve been interested in learning Japanese since Year 7,' said Jacinta, now in Year 9.

She hopes to continue studying the language through to Year 12 and possibly build a career in translating or interpreting.
