Keith Tudor, ITAA's Committee Chair, has been awarded the 2025 Carl Rogers Award, which is given by the American Psychological Association Division 32 for Humanistic Psychology for “Distinguished Lifetime Contributions to Humanistic Psychology.” It is bestowed by the Society of Humanistic Psychology. Keith is only the second person outside North America and Europe to win the award, the first New Zealander, and the first whose primary professional identity is as a social worker and psychotherapist, which reflects the broad and transdisciplinary nature of the project of humanistic psychology. He is also the first transactional analyst from New Zealand to win this award. Congratulations, Keith!

We would like to bring to your attention that some members and non-members have recently received emails posing as ITAA leadership, specifically purporting to be from the ITAA President. Please be aware that these are not official communications.

To ensure your digital safety, we want to highlight the importance of recognizing common email risks:

⚠️ Spoofing: When a scammer disguises an email address to look like it comes from a trusted source.

⚠️ Phishing: Deceptive emails designed to trick you into revealing sensitive information or clicking on malicious links.

Our Recommendation:

Please take a moment to double-check the sender's email address before replying. If you receive a message that seems unusual or creates a false sense of urgency, do not click any links. Instead, simply delete the message and contact the legitimate sender through official channels to verify its authenticity.

Thank you for your vigilance and for helping us keep our communications secure.

As 2025 draws to a close, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Robin Fryer, who will be stepping down from her role as managing editor of The Script at the end of this year. Robin will, however, continue in her role as managing editor of the Transactional Analysis Journal (TAJ)—a role through which she continues to uphold the scholarly excellence and integrity of transactional analysis publications worldwide.

Robin’s contribution to The Script over the years has been nothing short of exceptional. Her meticulous attention to detail, editorial expertise, and unwavering commitment have ensured that each edition has met the highest standards of quality and professionalism. She has kept track of countless stories, supported contributors with care and precision, and maintained consistency and excellence in every issue.

Beyond her editorial skill, Robin holds an enormous reservoir of institutional memory—a living archive of ITAA’s history, people, and progress. Her knowledge has been invaluable to all of us who have turned to her to understand the lineage of ideas, initiatives, and individuals that have shaped the association.

Robin’s quiet diligence and consistent reliability have formed the backbone of The Script’s success. She has been both guide and guardian— ensuring continuity, nurturing new voices, and preserving the standards that make our publication a trusted and respected forum for the global TA community.
Although she will be deeply missed in her role as Script editor, we are profoundly grateful that she will continue her work with the TAJ, where her wisdom, editorial mastery, and passion for TA scholarship will remain an enduring asset to the association.

On behalf of the ITAA Board and community: Thank you, Robin, for your remarkable dedication, professionalism, and years of service.

~ Marguerite Sacco

Transactional Analysis Bulletin Available Online

We are happy to report that the Transactional Analysis Bulletin is available and searchable online through the Eric Berne Archive at the University of California San Francisco. These publications, from 1962-1969, were the precursor to the Transactional Analysis Journal and offer a fascinating look into the early days of transactional analysis. They include reports from Berne’s early San Francisco Social Psychiatry Seminars; articles by Berne, Steiner, Karpman, and other TA luminaries; news of training and early certification; and much more.
