Most modern shoes are rigid and stiffen your feet by preventing movement of the individual joints

If the joints of your feet don’t move for the majority of each day your feet get mega stiff and from that, the muscles get weak
👣
If a joint doesn’t move then there’s no need for the muscles crossing it to fire so the body deactivates them and over time they shrink
👣
Mobilize your feet and strengthen them by spending time barefoot and switching to barefoot shoes. The stability of your foundation depends on it
