To date, the CooperSurgical owned laboratory where Insception Lifebank’s samples are stored has successfully released more than 800 cord blood units planned for use to families, helping advance the possibilities of newborn stem cells for both established treatments and experimental uses in regenerative medicine. Established transplant and experimental regenerative uses

A remarkable 83 percent of all cord blood releases from the CooperSurgical lab were intended for use in experimental regenerative medicine treatments, supporting participation in regulated clinical trials and investigational protocols. This highlights the potential role of newborn stem cells in the future of medicine.

Established uses in transplant medicine

Seventeen percent of releases from the CooperSurgical lab were intended for an FDA-approved use, primarily as a treatment for cancers and blood disorders.

Experimental uses in regenerative medicine

Brain injuries and developmental disorders were the most common reasons for releases planned for use in experimental regenerative medicine treatments.

A resource for the family

According to the CooperSurgical lab releases, autologous uses (a child’s own cord blood) are more common in experimental regenerative medicine treatments, while allogeneic uses (donor source of cord blood) are more commonly observed in transplant medicine.
