Helen Hadaway Bevers, age 92, of Doraville Georgia, passed away November 29, 2025. She was born April 16, 1933, on Easter Sunday, the daughter of John Henry and Blanche Azalee Griggs Hadaway. Helen lived a life centered on faith, kindness, and quiet strength. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her hobbies included playing bridge, painting, playing and listening to music, and following Ga Tech and the Atlanta Braves.
One of her greatest personal inspirations was the poem โJust a Minuteโ by Dr. Benjamin E. Mays, which she often recited as a reminder to value each moment: โIโve only just a minute, only sixty seconds in it. Forced upon me, canโt refuse it, didnโt seek it, didnโt choose it, but itโs up to me to use it. I must suffer if I lose it, give an account if I abuse it, just a tiny little minute, but eternity is in it.โ
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Curtis Bevers; her parents; her sister, Joan Hadaway McClung (Charles); and her in-laws, Frank Curtis and Mary Lillian โLilโ Wheeler Bevers. She is survived by her brother, Benjamin Earl Hadaway (Jeri); her children, Judge Michael E. Bevers (Eve Fingerett), Stan C. Bevers, Laura Bevers Baker (Mike), and Charles D. Bevers (Kerry); grandchildren Amanda Baker, Jessica Baker, Michelle Baker, Nicholas Baker, Kristin Baker, Robert Bevers (Amyre), Erika Bevers, Alisa Punjani (Nihal), Elliot Bevers, and Katie Bevers; great-grandchild Mei Punjani, with two more expected; along with a large extended family who will forever cherish her memory.
