New headshot means reintroducing myself!! I am Taylor Padawer a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified eating disorder specialist. I have been at J Lewis therapy since January 2020 and truly love the work that we do in private practice. I super enjoy making and maintaining long-term connections with my clients using a psychodynamic and relational approach. In the last two years I have brought in my dog, Dottie, who is almost 4 years old and a super sweet, emotionally attuned, soft, hypoallergenic, and adorable Havanese🐾. She sits with me in all of my sessions on Zoom and in person as well as in my groups.
I primarily work with people, 14 and up with eating disorders, disordered, eating habits, body, image, issues, and body, dysmorphia, anxiety, perfectionism, and interpersonal relationship issues. My ideal clients are millennials, GenZ and the oldest of the Gen Alpha‘s, which means I am also open to doing family work with those younger clients. My schedule is hybrid at our office in Sandy Springs on Mondays and Thursdays, and I work from home on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. With this new headshot, I look forward to the next chapter of my career and hope that we can do some really amazing work together.💜

Hey clinicians!
My name is Taylor Padawer and I have been a part of J Lewis Therapy for over 6 years. One of the most special parts of the practice is our wealth of knowledge in running groups. I am a certified eating disorder specialist and run 2 groups for people with eating disorders: one in-person, and soon to be one on Zoom. This group is FANTASTIC to build community between folks who have typically been isolated by their ED, challenge their ED thoughts and behaviors, and identify the roles they play in their relationships. For clients with experience in HLOC, these groups are especially helpful for stepping down, reintegrating into their daily lives, and continuing the supportive environment of a group setting without the constraints of “treatment rules.” Groups are also open to people just starting to explore their disordered eating habits, and accommodates people of all sizes and diagnoses. Take a look at the attached flyers and see if you have a client that can benefit from membership. We are VERY collaborative and love to include individual therapists as their clients embark on the group therapy journey. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, or just send my info/flyer directly to clients. I happy to support in any way you need.

Every January, the pressure to “start fresh” gets louder.
For people recovering from eating disorders, New Year’s resolutions can quietly reinforce the same patterns they’re trying to heal: restriction, body control, and shame framed as motivation.
At J Lewis Therapy, we believe:
✨ You don’t need a resolution to be healing
✨ Opting out can be an act of recovery
✨ Care, not control, supports lasting change
We just published a new blog on navigating the New Year without resolutions while honoring eating disorder recovery and relational healing.

In early September, I had the privilege to attend a dinner hosted by the for Atlanta’s best eating disorder professionals, with special guest Jenni Schaefer.
For those of you that don’t know, I’m admittedly not the biggest reader; she authored one of the books I’ve read cover to cover that has really impacted my practice as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙒𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙀𝙙. Jenni was gracious enough to speak with me one-on-one, autographed my copy of the book (hello, I’m a millennial!), as well as share her gift for music with the group.

*SUMMER GROUP PROMOTION*

I’m an associate at J Lewis Therapy, where group therapy is a major focus for our clients working on recovery. As summer winds down, we are briefly lowering the fees associated with the 2 interpersonal process groups for eating disorders. One is in-person at our Sandy Springs office and the other is virtual on zoom. Until the 29th of August, the consultation and weekly group fees will be LOCKED IN at reduced rates for those who schedule.

Here are the kinds of clients who would benefit from joining:
—Stepping down/out of treatment
—Difficulty identifying and communicating their emotions
—Experiencing any type of eating disorder and needing more support from those who “get it”
—Patterns of maladaptive interpersonal relationships

Please see the attached flyer for more information, and feel free to send onto other colleagues, friends or clients who may find this resource useful!

Had a lovely time celebrating the 5️⃣ year anniversary of with the team from a few weeks ago! Clarity Fitness is an incredible safe space for those in recovery from an eating disorder or body image concerns to be able workout joyfully and mindfully, without the pressure of typical gym landscapes such as mirrors and scales. It’s a honor to be connected to such an innovative business and we are so proud of all the work done so far!

Hello again, social media! It’s been a little while since I’ve shared anything on here so MAJOR UPDATE! My 2 year old Havanese, Dottie, now joins me for in-person sessions. The Havanese breed is perfect for a therapeutic setting because they’re small, hypoallergenic and very physically affectionate. She’s a sweet, 6.5 lbs of snuggles, loads of eye contact, and cute hair accessories. She’s been working with me during virtual sessions since she came home, and now gets to bring her joy and comfort to office setting!

This is so amazingly sweet! I love growing and learning everyday in this practice 💜

Hello followers! In advance of Giving Tuesday this year, I have signed up to be an Ambassador and part of the 2010s Alumni Team. Please take a moment to read about my experiences and why this is significant to me. As Anti-Semitism is rising domestically and abroad, it's important to make sure Jewish teens can still enjoy the same connection and experiences as I did. Thank you so much in advance and prepare to see me reposting this many times!

I'm fundraising for BBYO. It's an amazing organization. Everybody please check out my campaign! Find out more and donate here: https://igfn.us/vf/GiveBBYO2023/TaylorPadawer

Friday is a a great workshop that I thought you might be interested in.  It’s an opportunity to earn 5 CE’s and two of my favorite colleagues are leading it!

It’s on how to make a leap, increase your business in private practice, and ultimately make more money.

We are hosting this at The Berman Center and will be providing breakfast and lunch.

It‘s going to be a great day and I hope you can join us!  I attached a flyer with all the details.  Let me know if you are interested.
