Learn about how the lumbopelvic region may impact injury risk and rehabilitation in hamstring injuries

A brand-new module is launching on eacacademy.com today! The module is titled ‘Hamstring Injuries: A chiropractor’s role in a multi-disciplinary team’

This enlightening presentation from Nick Metcalfe of the FICS explores current expert perspectives and emerging evidence around hamstring injuries, with a particular focus on the role of the lumbopelvic region in injury risk and rehabilitation. Emphasising biomechanics, neuromuscular control, and pelvic stability, the module covers functional anatomy, injury mechanisms, and how force closure of the pelvis contributes to both injury prevention and performance. Finally, participants will be equipped with practical, evidence-informed strategies to improve pelvic control and reduce injury risk through targeted strengthening and motor control interventions.

This module aims to help you:

• Understand the role of the lumbopelvic region in hamstring injury risk and rehabilitation, including concepts like force closure and pelvic asymmetry.
• Identify the key phases of running, including the phase where hamstring injuries most commonly occur, and why.
• Recognise the importance of gluteal function and its relationship with hamstring overuse through mechanisms like synergistic dominance.
• Explore emerging mechanisms of injury, including stretch-related injuries involving trunk movement and neuromuscular inhibition theories.
• Apply evidence-informed strategies to enhance pelvic stability, motor control, and hamstring resilience through targeted interventions.

Learn about how cognitive functional therapy (CFT) may impact low back pain

A brand-new module is launching today on eacacademy.com!

At the ECU2024 Convention in Valencia, Professor Kieran O’Sullivan delivered a thought-provoking presentation on cognitive functional therapy (CFT) and how this intervention may impact low back pain. This session has now been turned into a brand-new module on eacacademy.com, titled ‘Cognitive functional therapy (CFT) for LBP: What is it? Does it work? Who can use it?’

Kieran addresses an important, yet difficult to implement, intervention for low back pain. He takes us on a journey through the world of cognitive functional therapy (CFT) and how we could integrate aspects of it into our busy daily schedules. Be ready to embrace a mild paradigm shift and to adapt the way you communicate with your patient.

This module will help you to reflect on:
• what we know (and don’t know) about the factors involved in low back pain
• how traditional treatments (e.g. exercise, manual therapy, meds) might be best integrated into care
• how we might facilitate self-management, while avoiding risks of (a) abandonment, and (b) dependence
• one approach to personalised, holistic rehabilitation for LBP (CFT) – what it is, does it work, who can use it

Learn about chiropractors’ experiences and perceptions in delivering care to equity-deserving population groups.

A brand-new module is launching today on eacacademy.com! The module, titled ‘Factors that influence the delivery of chiropractic services to equity-deserving groups in Canada: a qualitative study’, is based on a PMC article by Bakaa et al, which was voted the best article of Q2 2025 by the CMTJ judging panel.

This compelling article is based on a qualitative study which examined Canadian chiropractors’ experiences and perceptions in delivering care to population groups who may be marginalized due to race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, and other social determinants of health. Fourteen chiropractors across Canada participated in in-depth interviews, providing rich insights into the systemic and individual-level barriers that affect access to culturally competent chiropractic care.

This module aims to help you:
• Translate the Canadian study into a more personal setting, reflective of local delivery of chiropractic service to equity-deserving groups.
• Foster a culturally responsive clinical practice
• Improve diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), in working on policy development to make chiropractic care more inclusive and accessible for all patients.

Read the article and successfully answer the quiz, then download your certificate. Send in the certificate to your registering body to count for 1 CPD point/ hour.
