Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Dr. Janet Seabrook moved with her family to Gary, Indiana at an early age. She rose from humble beginnings to become one of the country's premier physicians. Dr. Seabrook earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Tuskegee University in 1987 and a degree in Medicine from Meharry Medical College in 1994. Aspirations and a strong commitment to build on her career in medical administration, grant writing and lobbying led her to earn an MBA from Purdue University Calumet in 2005. Since 1996, Dr. Seabrook has set at the helm of Community HealthNet Health Centers (CHN). Under her leadership, this not-for-profit, community-based primary healthcare organization upholds the mission of providing accessible, affordable and quality medical and behavioral health services to families and individuals of all income levels. Let your voice be heard!

As Community Health Centers (CHCs) mark 60 years of saving lives and dollars, they need your help. Federal funding that keeps CHCs open expires January 30, 2026. Without action from Congress, patient access is at risk.

CHCs now care for more patients than ever before, serving 52 million people across 17,000 locations nationwide. They include:

✅ Over 10 million rural residents (1 in 3)

✅ More than 20 million people who live in poverty (1 in 3)

✅ More than 6 million uninsured people (1 in 5)

CHCs serve 1 in 7 Americans, yet account for only 1% of total U.S. healthcare spending, saving Medicaid and Medicare billions of dollars annually by reducing costly emergency, inpatient, and specialty care.

America needs Community Health Centers. Together, we must ensure that every Community Health Center can continue delivering high-quality, affordable care that saves lives.
