Solution Focused Group Work is back!
2-3 November 2022, online
If you work with groups in any place or form, come and get yourself a bucketful of inspiration.
Work groups, sports groups, client groups, parent groups, youth groups, any groups of people who have to do things together will see and enjoy a different you after this two-day workshop with Biba Rebolj and Chris Iveson. During lockdown we devised a SF groupwork course specifically for remote delivery and it worked so well that we have built on that experience to create a Mark II version. Every group is unique and from last year’s course, an incredible exercise, that can help groups who are healing from a trauma or are on their journey towards recovery from a loss, substance misuse or abuse, was born. You can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5Zr5qq29MM&t=4s.
This year’s group will likely develop something new, just as significant, just as unpredictable. We would be honoured, if you joined our course and experience the process, get inspiration and leave with skills, ideas and practical exercises you can use with your group/s the very next day. As the post-lockdown new way of working has emerged, online groups (and teams) seem to stay and became a part of our present workplaces and realities. Online groups have their specifics, but can be just as enjoyable, profound and personal experiences, which you will experience yourself during our two days together.
Here’s a bit about Chris and myself in terms of our experiences facilitating groupwork, using Solution Focused approach:
Chris is one of the European pioneers of Solution Focused Practice and has done much to contribute to its present form. He has worked with groups from the Australian mining industry, the Japanese motor industry, the UK hotel industry as well as parent groups, survivor groups, children and adolescent groups and work groups throughout the health, education and social care sectors.
I have been a senior groupwork leader for the Europe-wide Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programme and have worked in many countries across Europe, the Caucasus and Iran. I have been a consultant to a number of government departments in Slovenia and a meeting facilitator of EU Commission working groups. Recently I took on a new post working in a primary school, where I am applying SF groupwork to children, which has definitely enriched the way I work and think.
