I'm thrilled to have been invited by Oteenow Employment and Training Society to present at the Regional Forum, held at the Westin Calgary Airport, and I'm grateful for the chance to share my work and inspire positive change. I felt privileged to connect with Nathaniel Arcand, Crystal Lightning, and attendees, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to share my story, which resonated with the event's empowering theme of 'Empowering Our Nations Through Wellness'.

She Greets the Sun...

Morning opens its quiet door,
and she stands beneath the trees
arms wide like the river
meeting the open sky.

The sun finds her first.

Golden light falls gently
upon her lifted face,
like the blessing of elders
spoken without words.

She breathes the forest air,
cool with the memory of night.
Birds rise above her
like small prayers with wings.

She does not ask for more.

The earth has already given
the warmth of light,
the whisper of leaves,
the steady ground beneath her feet.

She knows these gifts.

For the old ones taught
that every sunrise
is a hand extended
from Mother Earth.

So she receives it.

With open arms,
with quiet gratitude,
with a heart listening
to the rhythm of the land.

The sun touches her skin,
and she answers softly:

Thank you, Great Mother,
for another morning
to walk your living world.

The celebration of International Women's Day at Fort Edmonton Park's Indigenous Experience space was truly unforgettable. I extend my gratitude to Pamela Greene for inviting me to facilitate my signature workshop, Mikwan Maskihkiy. It was a pleasure to have Andrew Knack, Mayor of the City of Edmonton, attend my event and show his support at international women's day events. The day was filled with incredible moments. I appreciate my soul sister's talented photography skills.

Upon reflection of my visit to Lake Babine Nation, I recall the warm welcome and beautiful hosts that made my experience truly special. I was also honored to receive a pair of moccasins adorned with intricate bead work by elder Martina West, for which I am extremely grateful. ❤️

Under the Breath of the Tree

She sits where the roots remember
every footstep that came before her.
The tree opens its arms of shade,
and the day softens its voice.

Petals fall like old blessings,
touching her hair, her shoulders,
as if the Earth herself
is speaking in a language of scent.
Warm bark, sweet dust, green air
all of it settles gently in her chest.

She does not hurry her thoughts.
They drift like leaves,
unafraid of where they land.
In this circle of shade,
nothing asks her to be more
than what she already is.

The ground breathes beneath her,
slow and patient,
and she feels it
a steady promise pressed into her bones.
Here, she is not alone.
The soil knows her name.
The wind knows her story.

Peace comes quietly,
like a hand resting on her back.
It tells her she is held,
that the world is still kind,
that the Mother has not forgotten
how to be gentle.
