（日本語は英語の下に）On February 24th, Side by Side International (SBSI) held a BLS (Basic Life Support) training session for nurses at the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh. We were honored to have wonderful supporters join us all the way from Japan!
The training was led by Professor Keiko Sakai from Kio University (a certified instructor of the Osaka Life Support Association). Her lecture provided in-depth explanations, using videos to cover emergency responses for cardiac arrest both inside and "outside" the hospital. It was a highly practical session, offering immediate value to the nurses working on the front lines. The passionate demonstrations by Professor Sakai and Professor Furuzawa were very realistic and impactful.
Following the theoretical lecture, all participants engaged in the practical training with great enthusiasm. The members of "PEACE," a student organization from the Keio University Faculty of Nursing assisted the session.
The advanced mannequins and Khmer-language AED trainers used were provided by the Future Focus Solutions. Everyone reaffirmed the vital principle of "providing correct treatment as quickly as possible by working together," making it a truly fruitful experience. This event was also supported by the Kitahara Group.
2月24日、Side by Side International（SBSI）は、プノンペンの国立クメール・ソビエト友好病院にて、看護師を対象としたBLS（一次救命処置）講習会を開催しました。今回の講習会には、日本から強力なサポーターが駆けつけてくださいました！
それは畿央大学の酒井啓子先生（大阪ライフサポート協会所属）です。 講義では、病院内はもちろん、「病院外」での心肺停止状態への対応についても動画を使い、詳しく解説。現場の最前線に立つ看護師たちにとって、即座に役立つ非常に実践的な内容となりました。先生や古澤先生の熱意あふれるデモンストレーションも、とてもリアルでした。
また、慶應義塾大学看護学部の学生団体「PEACE」の皆さんも実技指導に加わりました。
理論を学んだ後の実技時間では、参加者全員が熱心に訓練に取り組んでいました。高度なマネキンやクメール語のAED訓練機はFuture Focus Solutionsの提供です。チームワークで「一秒でも早く、正しく処置を」という原則を全員が認識しており、非常に実りある時間となりました。また、北原グループの協力です。

（日本語は英語の下に）SBSI wants to help save lives as many as possible from newborn to adults in Cambodia.
On December 10, 2025, Side by Side International(SBSI) NGO hosted a Neonatal Resuscitation Workshop at The Cambodia-China Friendship Preah Kossamak Hospital.
It was made possible by some sponsors from Japan and a grant from Women’s International Group(WIG) Phnom Penh.
The doctors, nurses, and midwives participated in this valuable training. Led by four wonderful teachers from the National Pediatric Hospital(NPH) and Dr. Sreymom, the workshop was productive for all participants and many questions from them were answered.
In Cambodia, the neonatal mortality rate has been decreasing year by year, but it is still much more than the numbers in Japan.
We, Side by Side, are here to help Khmer save lives of Khmer.
SBSIは、カンボジアで新生児から成人まで、できるだけ多くの命を救いたいと考えています。
2025年12月10日、サイド・バイ・サイド・インターナショナル（SBSI）NGOは、カンボジア・中国友好プレア・コサマック病院で新生児蘇生講習会を開催しました。
これは、日本の支援者とプノンペンのウィメンズ・インターナショナル・グループ（WIG）からの助成金によって実現しました。
医師、看護師、助産師がこの貴重な研修に参加しました。国立小児病院（NPH）の4人の素晴らしい講師と若いスレイモム医師の指導の下、講習会は参加者全員にとって有意義な会となり、活発な質疑応答がなされました。
カンボジアでは、新生児死亡率は年々減少していますが、日本と比べると依然として高い水準にあります。
私たちサイド・バイ・サイドは、カンボジアで一人でも多くの命を救うために活動しています。

(日本語は英語の下に)The day after the neonatal resuscitation training session at Sihanouk Provincial Hospital, Side by Side International (SBSI) held a mini-training session on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (including how to use an AED) for the emergency room doctors and nurses at the hospital.
The training mannequin and VIVEST AED training machine used were provided by Future Focus Solutions & Pharma (FFS).
After the lecture, the staff members practiced the technique, which they all enthusiastically participated in. At the end, their CPR scores were measured using a mannequin called Brayden Pro, and some staff members achieved high scores.
By traveling to hospitals to hold seminars, SBSI made it possible for as many medical worker as possible can participate and learn through teamwork.
In the Sihanouk Province, there are many water and traffic accidents, so we hope that this training course will contribute to improving the survival rate.
We are extremely grateful to Women’s International Group (WIG) Phnom Penh for supporting our neonatal resuscitation training course, which also allowed us to hold a training course for ER staff at this hospital.

Side by Side International (SBSI)では、シアヌーク州立病院にて、新生児蘇生講習会の翌日、同病院のERの医師や看護師のための心肺蘇生法のミニ講習会（AED使用法を含む）を実施しました。
使用した訓練用マネキンとAED訓練機はFuture Focus Solutions & Pharma（FFS）の提供です。。
レクチャーの後で実技を行い、スタッフたちは熱心に取り組みました。最後は心臓マッサージのスコアをBrayden Proというマネキンで測定し、高得点を出す人もいました。
病院に出張して講習会を開くことで、できるだけ多くの医療者が参加でき、チームワークで学ぶことができます。
シアヌーク州では交通事故や水難事故が多いため、この講習会が救命率向上に貢献できるようにと願います。
Women’s International Group(WIG) Phnom Penh が新生児蘇生講習会を支援してくれたおかげで、この病院でERスタッフのための講習会もできました。心から感謝します。

On October 20, 2025, Side by Side International(SBSI) NGO hosted a Neonatal Resuscitation Workshop at Sihanouk Provincial & Referral Hospital.
It was made possible by the grant from Women’s International Group(WIG) Phnom Penh. Also Ms. Miyuki Nakamura who is a JICA volunteer nurse who patched the hospital.
24 healthcare staff, including doctors, nurses, and midwives, participated in this valuable training. Led by four wonderful teachers from the National Pediatric Hospital(NPH), the workshop was a productive and enjoyable learning experience for all participants, who worked hard and made great improvement both on their skills and knowledge.

サイド・バイ・サイド・インターナショナル（SBSI）NGOは、カンボジアで新生児から成人まで、できるだけ多くの命を救うために活動しています。
2025年10月20日、SBSIはシハヌーク州立総合病院で新生児蘇生ワークショップを開催しました。
これは、プノンペンのWomen's International Group（WIG）の助成金によって実現しました。また、JICAボランティア看護師の中村みゆきさんも同病院で活動しました。
医師、看護師、助産師を含む24名の医療従事者がこの貴重な研修に参加しました。国立小児病院（NPH）の4名の素晴らしい講師の指導の下、ワークショップは参加者全員にとって有意義で楽しい学習体験となり、彼らは熱心に取り組み、技術と知識の両方を大きく向上させました。
カンボジアでは、新生児死亡率は年々減少していますが、日本と比べると依然として高い数値です。
私たちサイド・バイ・サイドは、クメール人がクメール人の命を救うのを助けるためにここにいます。

(日本語は英語の下に)On July 25&26, Side by Side International (SBSI) once again assisted in the Para Athletics Championship, hosted and organized by the Cambodian Paralympic Committee and Hearts of Gold (NGO). I was honored to be able to take part in such a wonderful event.
I also provided training on resuscitation skills to the emergency team from the National Khmer Soviet Hospital.

今年もカンボジアパラリンピック委員会とハーツ・オブ・ゴールド（NGO)が開催したパラ陸上競技会のお手伝いをさせていただきました。このような素晴らしいイベントに参加できて光栄です。

(日本語は英語の下です)On May 6th, the second day of SHCC's three-day training for school health instructors, Side by Side International(SBSI)NGO held a workshop on life-saving skills. Akiko, Mao and Chhaithav from SBSI did a lecture and practical training on CPR and how to use an AED (in Khmer).
All the instructors (including doctors) were very enthusiastic and participated actively.
During the demonstration, Akiko shared some “secrets" to help Cambodians learn CPR quickly .
One example is the speed of the heart compressions. Even if you are told to do so 100-120 times per minute, most people have no idea! I instructed them to press to the tune of a children's song called "Baby Shark," which is well known among Cambodians these days. Of course, all the teachers knew the song!
The Brayden mannequin, which when pressed displays lights representing blood flow extending towards the brain, is extremely popular and is the quickest way to learn. Also, using the VIVEST AED training machine in Khmer (and English), everyone really enjoyed learning while cooperating with each other. We also taught them how to respond when someone is choking.
It was a very meaningful time for us. I hope that someday if someone's heart stops, everyone can start cardiac massage (chest compressions) immediately and that AEDs will become more common in schools and everywhere.
I would like to thank everyone at SHCC and Professor Asakura for giving me this valuable opportunity.
5月6日、SHCCの学校保険教官研修（３日間）の二日目、サイド・バイ・サイド・インターナショナルNGOは救命法の講習会を実施させていただきました。
心肺蘇生法とAED（クメール語）の使用法についての講義と実技練習です。
教官の皆さん（医師も含む）は、とても熱心で積極的に参加してくださいました。
デモンストレーションでは、カンボジア人が心肺蘇生法を素早く学ぶ秘策をいくつか伝授いたしました（笑）
一例が心臓を押す速度です。１分間に100-120回と言われても、たいていの方にはさっぱり！　最近のカンボジア人は結構知っているBaby Sharkという子供の歌に合わせて押しましょう、と指導しました。もちろん、先生はみんなご存じでした！
押すと血流を表すライトが脳に向かって伸びていくBrayden社のマネキンは大変好評で、最速で習得できます。それと、クメール語（＆英語）のVIVEST AED訓練機を使って、皆さん、本当に楽しみながら、互いに協力しながら、しっかり学んでくださいました。ほかに窒息した時の対応なども教えました。
私たちにとっても有意義な時間でした。誰かの心臓が止まったら、直ちに心臓マッサージ（胸骨圧迫）を開始できて、学校でも、またどこでもAEDが普及するよう願っています。
この貴重な機会を与えて下さったSHCCの皆様、朝倉教授に感謝いたします。

On March 26, 2025, Side by Side International(SBSI) NGO hosted a Neonatal Resuscitation Workshop at Oddar Meanchey Provincial & Referral Hospital.
24 healthcare staff, including doctors, nurses, and midwives, participated in this valuable training.
Led by four wonderful teachers, the workshop was a productive and enjoyable learning experience for all participants.
In Cambodia, the neonatal mortality rate has been decreasing year by year, but it is still more than thirteen times that of Japan.
We hope to contribute to saving as many lives as possible in Cambodia.
