We are so thankful for the generous and forward thinking men and women who started Community Foundation of Abilene 40 years ago!!! What an amazing Foundation it is!! Today was their annual luncheon and we were delighted to hear about the Foundation’s history from the one and only, Jay Moore (my favorite high school teacher)!! 😀

Did you know that Community Foundation of Abilene ranks # 11 in the state for raising and allocating the most funds? That’s pretty impressive for a town the size of Abilene!! 👏🏻

Something that struck me is that the first few donations made to start CFA, came out of tragedy and grief, an unexpected death of a loved one. This resonated with me because I started my small nonprofit 8 years ago after an unexpected cancer diagnosis and the premature death of my mother. I was reminded today that God truly does make beauty from ashes and He can use anything for His purposes and glory!!! 💜
A huge thank you to the donors and the staff at CFA for supporting Strength for Life for the past 8 years!!🫶🏻

Staff appreciation dinner!! Strength for Life has been blessed with some of the best trainers!! We appreciate the hours they put in to helping cancer patients grow stronger and feel like they have a community to belong to!! In March we will celebrate 8 years in operation!!
