Meredith Mawyer began her journey with TALK Therapy Services in 2012, bringing with her a passion for making a positive impact on families through speech therapy. Inspired by her mother’s dedication to young children, Meredith found speech therapy to be the perfect avenue to blend her desire to help children with the flexibility she sought in her career. 👶🏽💬

Specialties and Passions: Over the years, Meredith has specialized in working with non-verbal preschool-aged children, finding joy and fulfillment in helping these young learners find their voices. Additionally, her early career work with children with dyslexia remains close to her heart, reflecting her broad impact across various needs in speech therapy. 📚❤️

A Hidden Talent: Beyond her professional expertise, Meredith has an intriguing secret talent: she was a competitive swimmer through college! This hidden skill highlights her dedication and discipline, traits that she brings into her therapy sessions. 🏊‍♀️

✨Staff Spotlight: Corbin Tilson ✨

Meet Corbin Tilson, a valued member of the TALK Therapy Services team since July 2020. Corbin’s journey into speech therapy was driven by a desire to work in a helping profession, though social work, nursing, and teaching never felt quite right. Speech therapy, however, struck the perfect balance for her. 💬💙

Corbin specializes in pediatric care, with a passion for treating articulation, social language, and developmental disorders. She has a particular love for working with very young children, guiding families through the early diagnosis and treatment process. Corbin's dedication and approachability make her a comforting guide for families during what can often be an overwhelming experience. 👶👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Outside of work, Corbin enjoys exploring new activities, though she humorously admits to starting fresh after just a few weeks. She loves cooking, reading, and gardening, and while yoga and spinning are part of her routine, Corbin is hesitant to call them hobbies just yet. As an excellent speller, thanks to spell check, Corbin has a "hidden" talent that she proudly embraces! 🍳📚🪴🧘‍♂️

Corbin was initially drawn to TALK Therapy Services after shadowing a speech therapist during her time at JMU. She was impressed by the personable nature of the staff and the flexibility the company offered.
