🌟 Community Spotlight 🌟

At our Native Youth Day raffle, one lucky family won tickets to see the Minnesota Twins — and they had an amazing time cheering with other families who won! ⚾

These smiles remind us why we host events like Native Youth Day, because it brings our community together, creates joyful memories, and celebrates our Native youth!

Thank you to everyone who participated and supported this event. ✨ Your presence makes all the difference!

And remember to keep coming to IHB’s events! Every meetup, group activity, and laugh helps us continue creating experiences that benefit and uplift the community.

This week in our Cultural Crafting Group, one of our community members created a beautiful ribbon skirt featuring delicate floral patterns, soft satin ribbons, and beadwork accents. Aho, looks good!

And tonight, we're working late!
Our Drum Making Workshop begins at 5:00 PM. Participants will learn hands-on techniques for assembling and preparing drums, guided by skilled facilitators.

🧵 Welcome to Our Cultural Craft Circle 🧵
Held weekly at Indian Health Board of Minneapolis

Here in our craft group, we sew, bead, build, share stories, and learn from each other. Some of us come to finish regalia pieces. Others come just to be around community. There’s no pressure!

Check out this week's projects:
📸 One of our Elders built a tiny tipi, decorating it with moss and mini lights!
🧵 We’ve got sewing machines humming as skirts and shirts come to life.
💎 Beads, sequins, and moccasins line the tables.

Whether you’re brand new to crafting or have been doing this your whole life, there’s a place for you here. We help each other, share what we know, and celebrate what we create together.

💬 Join this group to see what we’re working on, find out when the next session is, or just stay connected to our creative community.

We’d love to see you at the next circle.

Wow, we’re already in August!

Things are really starting to take shape at the construction site of our future Medical and Dental clinic. This week, our pre-cast concrete walls are set to go up! The crane arrives Tuesday, and wall placement should begin Wednesday.

While most of the timeline is holding steady, work on the south side of the site will now start on August 18 instead of the 11th.

Every week brings us one step closer to opening a space designed for wellness, tradition, and community. Miigwech for walking this journey with us!
