✨ From Being Washed Over by Emotions to Inner Peace & Clarity - My Story ✨

11 years ago, I thought being constantly washed over by emotions and feeling deeply while almost drowning was normal.

It felt good while the emotions were high, but it felt like hell when it went down and deep.

Only after a heartbreak right before Christmas, something started to stir within me asking questions.

Life COULD NOT BE like THIS.

And when I received another fake warning at work, it further catapulted my journey forward.

Things needed to change.

I was done with the repetitive cycles and constant overwhelm, especially when I realized that I was the ONLY COMMON DENOMINATOR in this all.

Soon from the beginning, I found a mentor who worked a lot with the body through movement, connecting with the heart and turning inwards, which got so many things rolling for me.

Through this, I realized that I was disconnected from my body, not feeling the messages it sent me and that I had built up walls around my heart and put on armour in order not to feel and get hurt.

And exactly this was what was causing a lot of the pain!

The next months, were intense, but they were a liberation.

JOY, LOVE, PEACE & ALIVENESS came back into my life and emotions turned into friends and stopped overwhelming me.

Growth in Retrospective. 🌱

One year ago, I was at the Zulal Wellness Resort by Chiva-Som in Qatar working as a Visiting Consultant for 3 weeks.

One year ago, I was a different person.

One year ago, I reacted differently to challenges, hardships, stress and overwhelm.

The way I react now to challenges is different. 🌱

The way I handle triggers now is different.

It’s curious to see how certain, before triggering situations don’t activate me anymore.
They have lost their charge, because the belief linked to them has been seen, understood, felt, and rewritten:
On an emotional, energetical, physical and subconscious level. 💗

It’s crazy to see how much has happened and changed since then.

And I can only see it now looking back.

When I was there, I first thought it’s gonna be an easy ride, being there of service to the hotel guests giving sessions.

And damn, how wrong was I.

Yes, I did give sessions.

But it was an inwards journey which I hadn’t expected.

Old beliefs came up,
Old emotions came up,
Old ways of reacting came up,

And I couldn’t run away. 🙈

Nor could I distract myself, as there weren’t as many session as I expected (and was told).

So the only thing left for me was to go with it, to be with it, to feel it and allow for it to be happening.

Yes indeed, it was an intensive ride.

And even though I knew back then that all that happened (or not) was for me.

Only now can I truly see how much I have grown. 💗

And I am immensely grateful for that.

And your body has been speaking for a while already. 🤕

Not to punish you.
Not to sabotage you.
But to guide you.

Sixteen years ago, I started noticing the signals.
Not dramatic.
But clear.

PMS.
Joint pain.
Sudden rushes through my system.

Nothing “serious.”
But not random either.

What I didn’t understand back then was this:

✨ The body speaks in sensations.
✨ The nervous system speaks in symptoms.

And if you don’t understand the language,
you stay confused.

Some people spend years going from doctor to doctor,
trying to fix what isn’t broken.

Because the body isn’t the problem.
Disconnection is.

That’s why I created SomaFlow.

The question is: are you ready to listen?

Stop for a moment 🛑 and connect with your body.
How is each body part feeling?

Simply bring your attention there.
If it’s easier, place a hand on each area of the body and check in how it feels.

Tight, heavy, closed off, suffocating, burning, etc.

Light, open, expansive, warm tingling, etc.

There is no need to justify or explain it.
No need tomorrow it as good or bad.

Notice how your body feels and then ask yourself what it needs right now in that moment:

Food, rest, a hug, movement…

Your body is speaking to you all the time.

When you listen to it regularly and respect the messages that overwhelm and emotional overload will lessen and even disappear.

✨ The Quality of Your Questions Make the Change ✨

This is when it all changed for me.

I started to ask different type of questions.

Instead of:

⚡️ Why does this happen to me.
⚡️ What did I do wrong again.
⚡️ Why me again?
⚡️ etc.

I asked:

🌸 Why am I choosing this again?
🌸 What do I need to change/adjust to make abbettele choice?
🌸 What can I change right now?
🌸 and so on

The questions turned into empowering questions.

Allowing me to take action and take steps forward, instead of dwelling in the poor me and victim state.

And no, asking these questions and being fully honest with myself didn’t feel well…

But it was the catalyst for change.
