I am a Certified Massage Therapist and wellness practitioner by trade. I have over come some hardcore life challenges- like family illness, deaths, unhealthy relationships, addiction and loss of my home in a wildfire. Food for thought…

Our perspective doesn’t change what’s happening.  
But it does change everything about how we live
through it.

Take it from an alcoholic who got sober, a girl who's lost her mom to cancer, and a year later lost her house in a wildfire. I've been through some hard times.

Life's challenges can become:  
→ a story of collapse (“Everything is falling apart… I’m not strong enough”)  
→ or a story of awakening and hope (“Things aren’t falling apart… they’re falling into place”).

One version drains us, shrinks us, keeps us small.  
The other lifts us, expands us, reminds us we’re still learning , growing, and writing the ending.

We don’t get to control the plot twists.🌪️
But we do get to decide how we will tell ourselves the story about what has happened.  

We decide whether this chapter crushes our soul…  
or becomes the ultimate cone back—where we remember how resilient, how tender, how capable we actually are. 💪

So when life feels like it’s crumbling, pause and ask:  
What if this isn’t the end of my story?  
What if it’s the part where everything starts making sense?

I know things feel really crazy in the world right now.
And whether we realize it or not, that stress is landing in our bodies and nervous systems.

So if you're feeling the pull to do more—to fix, to control, to make sure everything turns out okay—you aren't crazy. It makes complete sense.

Gentle reminder:
You don't have to carry the weight of the whole world on your shoulders.

It is more than enough to focus on your own health—mind, body, and soul. When you do, everyone around you benefits.

It's not selfish.
It's deeply self-less. 💖

In chaotic times, it's easy to slip into go-mode—driven by that quiet belief that maybe if I do more, things will get better.

When big changes feel scary, our doing-ness ramps up even more. It's often an attempt to find control in what is, ultimately, uncontrollable—and it's usually fueled by fear.

During times like this, I often return to the Serenity Prayer, even though I'm not religious:

God (or whatever name feels true for you—Higher Power, Source, the Divine, the Universe), grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

The Serenity Prayer invites neutrality and acceptance—which are surprisingly empowering because they protect your peace.

When we lose touch with peace, we lose clarity—in our bodies, our intuition, our faith. Without that inner grounding, it can feel like everything depends on us making things go “right.” That creates a constant hum of responsibility that quietly drains our energy.

Our energy gets scattered when we pour it outside ourselves.

So how do we change how we feel on the inside when things don't feel very good?

✨We gently shift our focus.
✨We notice what is going well.
✨We lean into what feels good.
✨We make space for what brings joy, ease, and connection.

This isn't putting your head in the sand.

It's protecting your peace, your power, and your serenity—so you can show up grounded, loving, and clear when the world needs it most. 💕

Years ago, I couldn’t have accepted a calm life—even if you dropped me in a tropical paradise.

I’d find the chaos I knew:
Someone to “fix”
Someone to save.
Because facing my own hurt felt too scary.
I would have rather stayed distracted.

The truth?
Their reactions weren’t the problem.
Mine was and I was blocking my own serenity by staying busy managing everyone else.

If you find yourself trying to fix people, places, or things so you can finally feel okay… I see you.
And you don’t have to.

✌️Peace comes when we stop controlling the uncontrollable… and start tending the tender parts of ourselves that we've been avoiding with gentleness.

It doesn't have to be a big event.
It can be as simple as sitting in meditation for a few minutes, writing a letter to your younger self (the one who first felt the ache), or just placing a hand on your heart and whispering, “I'm here for you now.”

Save this if it hits home.

For a long time I felt like I was always scanning the room—trying to gauge how others were doing.

How they were doing defined how I was doing.
(I'm a recovering people-pleaser for sure.)

If my father was doing well, I was doing well.

If my partner was struggling, I was struggling.

I thought this was empathetic, and in some ways it was, but in other ways it was co-dependent.

I didn't know how to have my own space, my own needs, wants, desires, and joy apart from someone else

Secretly it was because I needed to be needed so badly that I thought if I had my own needs, apart from them, they would think I didn't care (I would be selfish) or worse they would leave.

The truth is...
That kind of connection with others is so draining. It keeps us on high alert, in fight or flight, and puts the power of validation outside of ourselves.

Then you find yourself making decisions that aren't in alignment with what you really want which leads to resentment and anxiety.

If this resonates, see if you can pause and take a moment to re-center your energy.

Finding your center is easier when you become aware of your body and your breath.

Then consider,
💕What do you want?
💕What would bring you joy, regardless of what others might think.

And see if there's a small or big action you can take to fill your cup and live in your joy.
