Strength isn’t just built in the gym — it’s built in the fight to come back.

This time last year, Shona and I were preparing her body for major heart surgery.
Every session was about care, patience, and trust.

Fast-forward to now ⏩
She just finished her leg day on the 45-degree leg press with 180kg in plates, pushing her total leg press well over 200kg — and with beautiful form.

This isn’t just a big number.
It’s resilience.
It’s commitment.
It’s proof of what the body can do when it’s supported properly and trained with purpose.

Shona now has full medical clearance and is back training hard — and her recovery has been nothing short of incredible.

Sarah has been training with me since 2019, and her journey is one that deserves to be shared.

She began her health journey after being diagnosed with hypothyroidism — carrying the belief that weight loss wasn’t possible with an underactive thyroid. That belief took a heavy toll on her mental health, and like so many people, she felt stuck before she even started.

What changed?
Seeing what was possible.

Meeting someone who had not only navigated thyroid challenges but thrived beyond them shifted everything. From there, Sarah’s focus moved away from fear and limitation, and toward trust, consistency, and self-compassion.

Her biggest lesson over the years?
💛 Loving the body she has while enjoying the process
💪 Celebrating every win — whether it’s on the scales or a new PB

Sarah’s journey is proof that progress isn’t just physical. It’s mindset. It’s patience. And it’s learning that your diagnosis does not define your potential.

So I was doing some Romanian deadlifts from the rack the other day, and it got me thinking…

We usually stick to that same steady tempo up and down, right?
But when you mix it up, the whole lift feels different.

Slowing the way down really loads the hammies.
Powering up fast builds that explosive strength.
And going quick down, slow up? Amazing for time under tension and glute activation.

Honestly, changing tempo is one of the easiest ways to get more out of your deadlifts — without adding any extra weight.

Some journeys start with a rehab program… but Caitlyn’s turned into years of strength, balance, and showing up for herself.

She first came to me for shoulder rehab and a reset after the chaos of Covid — because let’s be honest, postpartum bodies deserve just as much rehab as any injury 😂

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of coaching her through one full pregnancy, and now again through baby number two.
Despite a hectic schedule and all the wildness that comes with motherhood, she still makes space to move, lift, and prioritise her wellbeing.

Her biggest lesson?
“Balance is everything 🧘‍♀️”
Her favourite moves?
Deadlifts & weighted squats 🙌🏻
(And yes — she absolutely rocks them.)

Training through pregnancy isn’t just “safe” — it’s one of the best things you can do.
Better core control.
Better recovery.
Better strength for everything motherhood demands.

Meet Bec — the kind of woman who looked in the mirror one day and decided, “Nope. I deserve better.”

She walked into the gym planning to stick to cardio… then picked up a weight and fell head-over-heels for the process. And honestly? That shift changed everything.

What I love most about Bec’s story is her honesty: “Diet is key!”
Strength training gives you power, confidence, and capability — but nutrition is the part that shapes your energy, your progress, your recovery, your everything. Bec embraced both sides of the journey, and that’s why her results speak for themselves.

And yes… her favourite moves are anything legs —
except Bulgarians.
Which is hilarious, because she still does them. Regularly. Like a champ. (Not liking a move does not get you out of the move. Ever.)

Time for a Change

During 2019 I made the MASSIVE decision to change my career path. I hunger to do something that helps transform and uplift the lives of others around me. I know that I have so much more to give. LIFE is for LIVING!

I am so EXCITED to have finished studying my Cert III & Cert IV in Fitness through NHFA. I feel more at home in the Gym than I do anywhere else (besides my actual home, of course).
