Encore Fitness I've been teaching fitness and health since 1983, at my own studios & through Skagit Valley College. I'm offering online workouts 3 times a week instead.

Our indoor fitness classes are currently closed, in keeping with public health guidelines. Need help getting fit? Welcome to my "virtual health club!" This is where I share information about eating healthy, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, drinking adequate water, and establishing other daily habits that make life better. Every month I also offer special online support groups, challenges and accountability groups. These are by invitation only, require a small fee, and are accessible only to members on a private page. If you need help, inspiration and support to reach your fitness goals, I'd be happy to be your personal fitness coach. Get in touch! EXERCISE CLASSES
I offer group exercise classes at the Concrete Theatre, in Concrete Washington. They're fun, effective and a great way to meet other fitness enthusiasts. Set in a theatrical environment, these workouts get you dramatic results! They include cutting-edge cardio, strength, balance and flexibility. The workouts can be adapted for any fitness level. I thoroughly believe that exercise is magic, but activity alone won't help you lose weight, get lean and feel awesome! That takes a combination of regular exercise AND healthy eating. I do not believe in starvation diets or get-skinny-quick schemes. I do believe in lifestyle changes we can live with forever. With all the toxins we're surrounded with - in our water, air and food, I believe it's important to supplement our nutrition. The only product I recommend in my fitness groups is Shakeology. The November series of Yoga Basics kicks off tonight, Wednesday, November 5, at 6 PM at the Concrete Theatre. Four classes this month, $30, payable first night. Designed for beginners, these classes are customized for those of you in the room, with modifications, props, and conversations about how yoga can make you stronger, healthier, and less likely to fall down!

How am I getting stronger? (I don't really care about being beautiful! 🙂) Walking with a weighted vest. Lifting dumbells and bars. Working out with resistance bands. Teaching 2-3 classes a week at the Concrete Theatre, focusing on strength-training. Working out daily at home with Peloton. 🙂Eating plenty of protein. Taking supplements that I've researched and swear by. Getting enough sleep. Reducing my stress by prioritizing and protecting my energy. Talking with other women. Listening to podcasts. Working out with weights.😊 Doing yoga daily. Working out with weights. Drinking lots of water. Working out with weights. 🙂

If you've ever taken any of my group fitness classes in the last 40 years, you know I've always incorporated yoga-flavored stretches and postures. Most instructors do, because yoga is an effective method of increasing flexibility, strength, and balance. It also does some pretty cool things to your mind -- like, slowing it down!

That's why I'm teaching Yoga Basics in September.

4 classes, 4 Monday nights at 7:00
$30 for the series, payments welcome the first session, September 8.

This series is designed for beginners. You don't need one spec of experience. You do need a yoga mat and 2 blocks. A yoga blanket is nice, but not required. (P.S. The blocks bring the floor closer to you, you'll appreciate that!)

Update on Encore Fitness at the Concrete Theatre, 45920 Main St., Town Center, Concrete.

After finally getting through all the COVID closures and problems, I started teaching in person at the theater earlier this year. I'm purposely keeping the group fitness classes small this summer,although you are certainly welcome to text me for more information about them!

In general, there is a Tuesday afternoon workout for people who want a simple, low-impact exercise class. Perfect for beginners.

On Wednesday evenings, I teach a more advanced workout that's primarily cardio and core work.

And on Friday morning… Early!… I teach a weight training class.
