Inessence Reflexology is a simple, non-invasive treatment using only the hands. Aromatherapy uses plant oils.

Education and testing is a key part of Reproflexology™ helping women understand their own cycle.

For example 28 days is "typical" but not everyone experiences the same time frame, and even if they do, there are still differences.

That's why one of the starting points in using reproductive reflexology as part of your fertility journey is to help each woman to understand her own individual menstrual cycle and help to identify any issues that might be causing a problem.

Some examples include:
- Progesterone deficiency
- A short luteal phase (post ovulation)
- Anovulatory cycles (no ovulation)

Once identified, these issues can be resolved and managed using reflexology.

When women understand their menstrual cycles better, then they are able to identify the optimum time during which they are at their most fertile.

Well said Irish Reflexology Association!

Stress shows up in many forms, and it doesn’t have to be carried alone.

Reflexology provides a calm, supportive space to slow down, unwind, and allow the body to settle out of stress mode. By encouraging relaxation and balance, it can support overall wellbeing during busy or challenging times.

If your body has been asking for a pause, reflexology may be a gentle place to start 🌿

💜 The Irish Reflexologists’ Institute (IRI) is the professional body for reflexology in Ireland, supporting reflexologists through education, professional standards, continued learning, and a connected practitioner community. 💜

In our members experience men are often more sceptical about Reproflexology™ than women.

What we find is after the initial consultation where they learn about our tests and protocols they tend to come round to the idea.

Reproductive reflexologists know that despite s***m being delicate and easily damaged, there is much that can be done to improve both quality and quantity. S***m quality can be affected by diet, poor sleep, high stress levels, heat, some forms of exercise and these can be fairly easily remedied.

And like other health practitioners we use Semen Analysis and S***m DNA Fragmentation testing to help us to understand where the issues may be and repeat testing to measure progress.

Well trained reproductive reflexologists (like our members), know what to look out for:

"I had a s***m test which came back pretty fine but the reflexologist spotted raised white blood cells, so she suggested I go for some further tests. I had bacteria present, which the GP and hospital hadn’t noticed, and was treated with antibiotics." - Male participant from a small phenomenological study in January 2023.

Whilst reflexology, or any other form of complementary therapy might not suit everyone, it can be a useful form of support and provides a means of reducing stress and an integrative approach to fertility.

Still unsure about reproductive reflexology? You're not alone.

Many mums, and hopeful parents, come to us feeling sceptical. They’ve heard about reproductive reflexology through a friend, an article, or even a healthcare provider, but they’re not convinced it could really help.

And that’s okay. Scepticism is completely valid.

What most people don’t realise is that reproductive reflexology is far more than a relaxing foot treatment. Our trained practitioners are deeply knowledgeable in the complexities of both female and male reproductive health. They may suggest fertility-related tests, guide you in tracking your temperature, and support changes in lifestyle, nutrition and emotional wellbeing.

Because fertility is never just about one thing. It’s a whole-body, whole-couple journey.

We’ve supported people with PCOS, endometriosis, and those going through IVF or assisted conception. Some have been told they may never conceive, and yet they have gone on to have success stories of their own.

We see your frustration. We honour your sadness. And we’re here to support you with compassion, science-based care and hope.

Want to find someone who understands the full picture? You can connect with a local reproductive reflexologist via our website.

INESSENCE by Fiona Farrugia

Aromatherapy and Reflexology are holistic, complementary (a supplement to orthodox treatment) therapies that can enhance other treatments you may be undertaking, or be a follow up to other therapy. Using holistic therapies can help improve general well being by using natural blends made up of essential oils. Massage and Reflexology can also help the body get back to its natural rhythm and balance, thus helping the healing process without having to resort to too much medication. It is best to leave strong medication for when it is seriously required. Taking too many antibiotics can work against the immune system. I believe in working hand in hand with your General Practitioner, and do not advocate stopping any treatment prescribed by your doctor. Working together can help achieve better results. Reflexology is also ideal as a follow up treatment following sessions with the osteopath or physiotherapist.

In July 2018, I was very honoured to be endorsed by Professor Mark Brincat to assist in his Clinic at St. Clare’s Medical Services: Obstetrics, Gynaecology & IVF.

I perform Reflexology to help relax patients, to sooth anxiety and stress, to ease pain with various symptoms (including endometriosis, IBS, Menopause etc...) to help balance the hormones in MEN (and help increase s***m count for fertility), and in WOMEN, to make them more receptive to IUI or IVF treatment. For appointment kindly call on: + 356 21316913 after 1.30pm. I am available on Thursday afternoons. (Other days by request).

Appointments may also be made at
