LifeLine 3 is one of six Indiana University Health helicopters serving a 150-mile + radius outside of Indianapolis. Located in Vigo County, IN, LifeLine 3 has been serving west central Indiana and east central Illinois since 2005 from a secure base at the Terre Haute International Airport. Terre Haute Base is also home to G30, a ground critical care transport unit which has the same staffing and care level capability as the aircraft. G30 is available during inclement weather, when it is not possible to fly, or upon special request by a physician when ground transport is indicated/necessary.

LifeLine 3 uses a 2007 American Eurocopter EC-145, assigned the FAA number N197LL. This twin engine helicopter was specifically designed for emergency medical missions and features: *single pilot instrument flight capabilties *real-time aircraft satellite position tracking *autopilot *night vision goggles for all crew *air traffic collision warning avoidance system (TCAS) *all glass/digital instrumentation and real time weather radar *a maximum takeoff capacity of 7,903 lb *a cruise speed of 153 mph *a range of 370 nautical miles *fuel capacity of 229 gallons of jet-A
