🍝 It’s World Pasta Day!
Pasta can absolutely be part of a healthy, balanced diet.

Carbohydrates are our body's (and brain 🧠) preferred source of energy. ⚡️

Here are my 3 pasta tips!
1️⃣ Try a fibre boost - switch from white pasta to wholewheat or spelt pasta.

Wholewheat pasta has 3x the fibre content of white pasta!

Spelt is softer and paler than wholewheat (so it feels closer to white pasta), but it has more than double the fibre.

So if you’ve found wholewheat pasta a bit too firm or too brown for the kids, give spelt a go.

2️⃣ Portion size - starchy foods like pasta should make up about a quarter of our plate

3️⃣ Pair it with a portion of protein, half a plate of vegetables and a drizzle of olive oil

💬 What's your favourite pasta dish?

Healthy eating doesn’t need to be complicated

⚖Keep the balance of your plate in mind.
➕Think about adding in nourishing foods rather than focusing on foods to cut out.
✔ Focus on being consistent with small habits instead of aiming for perfection (spoiler alert – it doesn’t exist!).

Real-life nutrition made simple.

Follow for evidence-based, simple steps you can take to improve your nutrition and improve your long-term health.

📖 Big news I never thought I’d share…

I’ve signed up to be part of a book collaboration with a group of incredible businesswomen!

Each of us will be sharing our journey - the moments that shaped us, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the lessons we’ve learned along the way.

For me, this feels huge. As someone who’s always been quite private (and who grew up believing she wasn’t “good at English” because of dyslexia), writing a book is something I never imagined I’d do.

But like so many things in life - growth happens when we take that first step, even when it feels uncomfortable.

That’s what I help my clients do every day: take one step at a time towards feeling better, eating well, and building habits that last. Time to take my own advice and take that first slightly terrifying step!

I can’t wait to share more about this journey soon!

A day off well spent!
Got outside, stretched my legs, and soaked up some gorgeous countryside views. It was exactly what I needed.

Spending time outside walking is great for our physical but also our mental health.

Today was fantastic - time to reflect, move, breathe in the fresh air, and catch up properly with my best friend.

We had the most delicious lunch at The Wild Café in Marsden (the apple cake at the end was incredible 🍎☕️ - yes nutritionists do eat cake sometimes!)

Yesterday - session 1 of my BGAP coaching program with Mia Dooley Coaching helped me to remember prioritising me is important for my business to flourish but also for the future me.

Not new information - something I talk to my clients about all the time but sometimes it's hard to take your own advice!

💬Will you be getting outside this weekend for a walk? Let me know where you're going!

10 min in the microwave whilst I ate my breakfast and my packed lunch was ready.

Skipping lunch can lead to mood and energy dips mid afternoon and increased snacking after your evening meal.

We need to fuel out body and brain for the whole day not survive on snacks and coffee alone.

How often do you skip lunch at work? Or do you grab something quick from the vending machine but end up hungry just a short time later.

Planning ahead for lunches can give you more energy over the day allowing you more headspace to plan!

If you want to learn more about how you can make planning your meals easy - keep your eyes peeled for the launch of my “Time for Dinner” workshop where I will be joined by Natalie Ford.

This will be running online and in person

Do you ever get chance to experiment in the kitchen?

I had a really interesting conversation this morning with Angela from about how we only tend to make recipes that have a corresponding picture in the book.

We’re drawn to a recipe by the beautiful visual image that has been expertly crafted by food stylist and snapped by food photographer.

But food doesn't have to look beautifully perfect all of the time, you're not serving your food in a restaurant it's for you and your family to nourish and fuel you through the day.

Food should be delicious nourishing but it can also be fun.

Why not try an experiment today?…. Open your fridge, see what you've got and try to create something new! This can help you to use up leftovers saving you money and reducing your food waste.

💬 Let me know what you create!
