Here’s a delightful for all of the beautiful, courageous and creative women out there!

Introducing pie - the destroyer! We whipped up this divine dish earlier this week to celebrate Kelsey’s birthday. Kelsey is our amazing yoga teacher trainer, Ayurvedic health counselor and program coordinator. Supremely dedicated, courageous and inspiring, she keeps everything at Hale P**e running smoothly. Kelsey loves to share the light of Yoga and Ayurveda and has guided so many people to greater wellbeing.

We felt this special recipe honored her fabulousness. You can make it for a special woman in your life... or for yourself!

We guarantee that this pie will boost your life-force and leave you smiling, satisfied and grounded.

Here’s how:

For the crust, combine:
2 cups white wheat - soft winter
1 cup rice
1.5 tsp salt
1/4 tsp anise seeds
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp fennel powder
Chopped macadamia nuts (or peeled almonds)
2 tsp ghee

Add water and mix with your hand until you form a dough.

Spread a little ghee around a pie dish then press the dough into the dish.

Bake at 375 f for 14 mins

Meanwhile whip up the filling
Blend 3/4 cups of water or herbal tea (we like rooibus tea with cinnamon) with 1 1/4 cup fresh dates soaked in ghee.

For the dates - put dates in a jar then pour fresh ghee into the jar and let infuse for 2 weeks.

Pour the delectable date filling into the pie crust then bake another 3 minutes

Garnish with mint.

Savour. Each. Bite.
