Keeping your blood pressure in check is important for your health. If it’s too high, your blood pressure can lead to serious conditions like stroke or heart disease.

While medications like beta-blockers can help lower your blood pressure, did you know that you can also eat certain foods to help lower blood pressure?

Antioxidant-rich foods may have a small impact on blood pressure levels. Foods high in vitamin C, vitamin E, potassium, selenium or L-arginine are good options if you’re looking to lower your blood pressure. Antioxidants protect your cells from damage and can reduce inflammation, which, in turn, can keep blood pressure managed.

This month is a national reminder to focus on heart health and raise awareness about cardiovascular disease — the leading cause of death in the United States.

The good news? Small, everyday choices can make a big difference:
• Stay active
• Eat heart-healthy foods
• Know your blood pressure and cholesterol numbers
• Take medications as prescribed
• Don’t ignore warning signs

Your heart works hard for you every single day. This February, take a little time to return the favor.

If you have questions about your heart medications or ways to support your heart health, we’re always here to help at Chris’ Express Drug 2. 💊🫀

Nearly one of every 110 babies is born with a congenital heart defect, making it the most common birth defect in the United States.

Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) Awareness Week (February 7–14) is dedicated to bringing attention to the many children and adults living with heart defects present from birth. ❤️

It encourages greater understanding of the importance of early detection, expanding treatment options, and offering lifelong support for those affected. 💪💗 CHDs impact nearly 1% of births — about 40,000 babies each year — reminding us how many families are touched by this condition.

FEBRUARY IS NATIONAL CANCER PREVENTION MONTH

According to AACR, the federal government estimated that about 2 million Americans were diagnosed with cancer (other than non-melanoma skin cancer) in 2025, and that more than 618,000 individuals died from their disease

This means that steps such as quitting smoking (or never starting in the first place), maintaining a healthy weight, exercising regularly, protecting your skin from the sun, and getting vaccinated against the pathogens that cause certain cancers can dramatically reduce your risk of cancer in many cases.

Furthermore it is encouraged to maintain annual wellness exams including laboratory as well as other diagnostic tests (IE: pelvic and breast exams, PAPs, mammograms, colonoscopies, etc).
