SCA Advocacy Alert

SCAs are asked to share with members encouraging response to proposed grant priorities by Monday, August 18. SCAs are welcome to re-share ASCA's posts on social or utilize the provided copy and social image enclosed below.

Take Action to Respond to Proposed Grant Priorities!

Proposed changes to the federal School-Based Mental Health (SBMH) services grant and Mental Health Services Professional (MHSP) Grant would:
-Limit services to only a small % of students
-Exclude colleges/universities from applying
-Create barriers for student access
-Disregard prevention & wellness supports

We need priorities that:
-Expand the full complement of student mental health services – school counselors, school psychologists and school social workers
-Include prevention for all students
-Keep IHEs eligible
-Use school-appropriate consent policies

Submit your comment by August 18: https://www.votervoice.net/ASCA/campaigns/129011/respond
