Dear colleagues,

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Dr Suthananthan Kanthaswamy, who served as Chairman of MMA Melaka (2009 — 2011), as well as a Lifetime Member, departed peacefully on 17 March 2026.

Dr Suthananthan was a respected colleague and leader within the Melaka medical community, and his contributions and dedication to the profession will always be remembered.

On behalf of MMA Melaka, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife, family, and loved ones during this difficult time. May they find strength and comfort in the memories they shared with him.
Details of the funeral service are as attached for those who wish to pay their last respects.

May his soul rest in peace.

In conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri, MMA Melaka continues its meaningful tradition of reaching out to members of the community who are in need.

This year, two families were selected to receive contributions in the form of essential household items. Both families are currently caring for loved ones who are bedridden following a stroke, a circumstance that brings significant emotional and physical challenges to their households.

Representing MMA Melaka, Dr Soh Yih Harng, Chairman of MMA Melaka, together with Dr Shahriman from SCHOMOS, personally went down to the field to visit the families and deliver the contributions.

It is our sincere hope that this small gesture will help ease their burden and provide some comfort as they prepare to welcome the blessed celebration of Eid with their loved ones.

May this contribution bring strength, hope, and warmth to their homes as Hari Raya Aidilfitri approaches. 🌙✨

On 10 March, MMA Melaka had the honour of attending a Berbuka Puasa gathering together with representatives from the Melaka healthcare leadership.

Among those present were:

• Dr Ahmad Helmi bin Hamdan – Pengarah Hospital Alor Gajah
• Dr Wan Ahmad Hakimi bin Wan Azlan – Hospital Jasin
• Dr Ahmad Fithri Azam – FMS, Klinik Kesihatan Ayer Keroh
• Dr Mohd Rosli bin Tompang – Timbalan Pengarah Perubatan, Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri Melaka

The gathering provided a meaningful opportunity to strengthen professional relationships and foster closer collaboration among healthcare leaders in the state while sharing the blessings of the evening.
