The Keeper’s Pledge
I place in this hollow of velvet and grain
The tangles of worry, the salt-stings of pain.
The prayers yet unwinged and the "what-ifs" of old,
For these are too heavy for one heart to hold.
Spirit of Rivers, of Silence and Tide,
With nowhere to tremble and nowhere to hide,
I trust You to tend what I’ve folded away,
While I tend the work and the light of the day.
The lid is now closed; the commitment is made.
I step into brightness, no longer afraid.
