Fall is here! It is the season of change and letting go. 🍁 In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we use the elements in nature to help diagnose and treat imbalances in the body. 🌎 The changing of leaves, the decrease in temperature, the shortening of days mirror the movement of our energy and focus inwards. Our bodies work in harmony with natural world. Three quick reminders to help maintain your health this time of the year: 📝
🍲 - Eat warm and cooked foods! As the outside temperatures drop, our bodies need less raw and more cooked foods. Soups and stews! Braised/roasted/sautéed/steamed foods are best. Lay low on the salads and smoothies!
🧣- Bust out those cute hats and scarves! Keep your head and neck warm and protected from cold and wind.
🦠 - Incorporate beneficial ingredients in to your foods- garlic acts as an anti-viral, turmeric an anti-inflammatory, and ginger for warming your center/supporting digestion.
🪄- Get regular acupuncture treatments to build your immunity as we head in to the winter months (flu and cold season!)
