Yes, PRP therapy is not new but the difference here is that Dr Wikus is currently the ONLY doctor in SOUTH AFRICA with a MAGELLAN® Autologous Platelet Separator System. The MAGELLAN uses laser technology to separate the PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma in your blood sample. The end result is autologous blood with concentrations of platelets above baseline levels, that contain at least 7 growth factors. The concentration of platelets and, thereby, the concentration of growth factors can be 5 to 10 times greater (or richer) than usual, cutting the number of treatments needed by half.
