Today we celebrated Barbara’s birthday with lots of smiles, warmth, and a truly beautiful birthday cake made by the wonderful Carla. The cake looked amazing and tasted just as good! It was lovely to see everyone come to wish Barbara a very happy birthday and share in the celebrations.🥰😘

Bingo afternoon was full of smiles, laughter, and a little bit of friendly competition. 🎉
There’s something wonderfully simple yet special about a game of bingo. The room quickly filled with excitement as the numbers were called, eyes focused on the cards, and everyone hoping to be the first to shout “Bingo!”🥰🥰🥰

Over the weekend, our residents enjoyed a special quiz created called “Trip Down Memory Lane.”
It was a wonderful afternoon filled with reminiscing, laughter, and lots of shared stories. The quiz took everyone back through the decades from classic films and famous faces to memorable moments in history. It was lovely to see so many smiles as familiar names, songs, and events sparked happy memories and conversations. We finished with a sing-along music round, which truly stole the show! As soon as those well-loved tunes started playing, there was clapping, toe-tapping, and plenty of enthusiastic singing. A perfect reminder that sometimes the best afternoons are spent taking a little trip down memory lane. 🎶✨

Residents are loving our latest puzzle challenge! 🧩There’s nothing like a little friendly competition to get everyone smiling. The room was filled with concentration, laughter, and plenty of “I’m nearly there!” moments.It’s amazing to see how quickly the competitive spirit kicks in — everyone eager to see who will complete the puzzle first! Activities like this help keep minds active, encourage social interaction, and most importantly, bring lots of joy to the day.😍❤️

We are absolutely delighted to celebrate Lin as this month’s Employee of the Month!
Recently stepping into her new Senior role, Lin has truly been flourishing. She has embraced the added responsibility with confidence, professionalism, and positivity, continuing to set an incredible example for the whole team.

Lin is someone who will always go the extra mile to make someone’s day brighter. Her caring nature shines through in everything she does, whether she’s supporting a colleague, helping a resident, supporting families, or simply offering a kind word when it’s needed most. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Lin, no job is too big, and she approaches every task with dedication and enthusiasm.

A fantastic team player, Lin embodies the values we hold at Ann Slade. She is supportive, dependable, and consistently willing to step in wherever needed. It’s no surprise she is such a well-valued and respected member of our team.

This coming October will mark an amazing 8 years with Ann Slade, a wonderful milestone that reflects her commitment and loyalty. We are so grateful for everything she brings to the workplace each and every day.

Huge shout-out to Erin from Chesterfield School, Duke of Edinburgh volunteers, who brought energy, kindness, and wonderful company to an afternoon of bingo and alphabet categories games activities👏 Smiles were bigger, the atmosphere was warmer, and the whole afternoon was brighter because of Erin. A wonderful reminder of the difference young volunteers make 💙👏

Today, we were absolutely delighted to welcome Erin and Lourdes, two fantastic volunteers from Chesterfield High School, who spent several hours with us as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award journey. They did a wide range of activities with enthusiasm, kindness, and big smiles—bringing energy, laughter, and genuine warmth to everyone they met. From chatting and helping out to simply being present and engaging, Erin and Lourdes truly brightened the day for our residents, who thoroughly enjoyed their company 💛 We are so grateful for their time, compassion, and positive spirit.
