We get several keyboard warriors on the socials complaining about our prices and about how we should be cheaper than stores because we do it ourselves. I get it, some folks don't like our prices. I don't like our prices either, but they are a reflection of the world we live in. We don't just pull them out of thin air. They are based on what we have to pay for things and the margin we have to have to stay open. I'm certainly not getting rich from them. Sorry for the rant, but I think it's best to speak plainly. Who would have thought you'd have to develop such thick skin to run a small farm and business? All of this is the reason for this email this morning.

Raising your own food sounds simple until you start listing what it actually requires.
Land that has to be purchased, maintained, and protected.

Animals that need daily care in every kind of weather.
Fencing, water, feed, shelter, planning, and patience.
Years of learning before you ever see a return.

Most people don’t want to raise livestock themselves — not because they don’t care, but because life is already full.

That’s where we come in.

We made the decision to invest in land, raise animals, and take on the responsibility so our customers wouldn’t have to do all of it themselves. We deal with the long days, the planning, the uncertainty, and the work that happens long before food ever reaches a kitchen.

When you order from Outwest Farms, you’re not paying for convenience. You’re paying for the time, effort, and responsibility you chose not to take on — and that’s a fair exchange.
You get food you can feel confident about without needing acreage, equipment, or years of trial and error. We handle the work on our side so it fits into real life on yours.

Feeding YOU like Family!

Welcome to Out West Farms!

We are a family business that is raising and selling natural, grass-fed beef and pasture-raised pork by the frozen pound. No hormones, no antibiotics, just grass and beef the way they were designed. We do provide minimal feed to our hogs because they can’t forage for all of their nutrition themselves like cattle can. However, our hogs are allowed to roam where they will inside their 4 acre pasture. No tiny pens for them. They roam the hillside at their leisure which is helping them to be a happy and great looking animal. The cattle are allowed to roam within our paddock system to forage as they will and to eat grass or hay depending on the season.

Please understand that our animals or not just “products”. When an animal is born or is brought onto our farms it is treated with the respect due any creation of God’s. We are doing our best to provide food for our family and to produce food that we are proud to provide to our friends and neighbors. We also want to express that many in today’s business environment will say and do almost anything to make a buck, we don’t. While we answer to our customers, we ultimately answer to the creator of this world. While we take all of Scripture to heart, when it comes to our business and the service we try to provide, we take Proverbs 22:1 and Ephesians 6:5-8, VERY seriously.

Because we only sell what we provide for our family, we can honestly say that we are feeding you like family!
