When I first started this page in June I had a long account of how I happened to be given the Jaguar. The story is gone. It was difficult to write because who can really explain such a thing. It happened in a meditation or maybe it was in another dimension or somehow in a dreamtime while awake. I had been very depressed and not at all happy with my life. I did not know what to do. I remembered that when I would go to the Caves to see the Grandmothers, they often helped me. So I go to the entrance of the cave and Grandmother is there and she says come in, we are all here." We enter the dark cave and wander around to her cave, which is a little above ground. So we crawl in and I see many Grandmothers dancing with candles and herbs, singing and welcoming me. I am so tired. They have me lie down next to the fire and I just let myself feel the warmth and the healing and finally feel safe. With my eyes closed I see a Jaguar enter the room and fly around, I see the stars on his body which most people think are spots. It is fun to watch him swirl around the women, I know he is bringing us knowing. He lies down next to me, spooning with me. He is warm and I feel his cozy fur which makes me sleep some. I am not sure how this next part happened because it happened fast and out of time. I became aware that the Jaguar was not just next to me, the Jaguar and I were now one being. We would never be separate. From that moment I would always feel him and know that he is part of me. I have spent a couple of years learning about this and accepting it. I did not ask for this. However, my life is forever changed because of it. Some months later, I was given a white female Jaguar with diamond eyes to help me in my healing practice.
In 2005 I went to the Yucatan and the caves I mentioned are at Lol Tun near Chichen Itza. I met and started studying with a Wisdom Teacher called Miguel Angel Vergara. Before that I studied Integrative Chakra Healing with Dr Richard Jelusich. Prior to that I studied Eastern and Western psychology and have been a psychotherapist since 1988. Along the way I have studied many different energy healing practices including Reiki. I have worked with seriously mentally ill persons, all kinds of psychological distress like anxiety and depression and PTSD, people who have chronic illness, grief, many things. Now I look at the energy behind these experiences, reconnecting people with their natural energy sources.
