I am a 48-year old wife, mother of two teenage girls, and fur-mom to a crazy yellow lab! I love to read, relax, watch movies and reality TV, and spend time with family and friends. Working as a school psychologist, life is busy and can get stressful at times. I have battled insecurities and anxiety for years, and I have always struggled with my weight and body image. Growing up, I was always aware
that my mother viewed herself as fat and frequently was focused (sometimes even obsessed) with her weight and dieting. Around the age of 12, I began thinking about my weight and I worried that I was also fat. Throughout the years, I have owned every diet book, watched every infomercial, and I’ve even tried some CRAZY meal plans. Sadly, I always saw myself as the ‘big girl’ and felt self-conscious about my body image. Finally, after spending over $300 on a fad diet in the fall of 2015, I was done! I realized I needed to get back to the basics: nutrition and fitness. In the spring of 2016, I made a commitment to myself to exercise for at least 30 minutes 5 times a week, focus on eating natural foods, and improve myself inside and out. The desire to transform my life has brought me to this point. I am more aware of my goals: feeling healthier, more connected, and fulfilled. I still struggle with the occasional anxiety attack, but I know that I have the tools to pick myself up and keep moving forward. I’m a constant work in progress, and I’ve learned that there is no “quick fix” to these challenges I’m working to overcome. If you have faced similar struggles and don’t know where to turn, I’m here to help. Please reach out and send me a message. I’d love to share with you how I’ve improved and how you can heal from the inside out too!
