While we're waiting for Spring, for vaccines, for better days ahead, how are you preparing for these days? How are you getting ready for Spring and the better days that are ahead of us and when we will all be vaccinated. Please let us know, we would love to hear from our heart family out there. You might ask us what we're doing while we wait... well, we're staying connected with friends and family online, we're moving to the heart-wise webinars that are brought to us from Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation, we're listening to the Heart Institute podcasts with Dr. Reid and experts and we're keeping a grateful journal because when those days arrive and the roads open up, we're gonna have a lot of catching up to do. We can't wait to get caught up with all of you!

You don’t need many materials...just blank paper, coloured pencils or crayons or markers. Start with one line and let your hand be your guide.

Great news to share! Our very own Dr. Peter Liu was awarded funding! Today’s announcement will support research on early detection and better treatment for atrial fibrillation. This disease affects 25% of Canadians aged 70 and over, increasing their risk of strokes, heart failure and other complications. The funding will support research by Peter Liu at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, in collaboration with Roche Diagnostics, to improve disease diagnosis, risk prediction, and patient care and outcomes, while also reducing health-care costs.
