Yin Yoga for Self-care

I had great plans to do a reel today about my upcoming yin yoga workshop.

No voice/No reel.

So so here is a little info.

On Friday 13th I am holding an extended yoga and self-respect, self-care, self -love
7-9.30 pm
Main St, Dunshaughlin.

Time to write, stretch deeply into your body, and embrace your wellness.
This is a small, intimate gathering exploring what it is like to fully give yourself over to your self for 2 and half whole hours.
No phones, no expectations, and no experience necessary.

I look forward to sitting with and guiding you on an exploration into self respect

-care ❤️

Imbolc.
Full moon
Goddess Bridgid.

I feel very blessed to have spent the weekend celebrating many wonderful turnings.

Celebrating what would have been my grandmother's 100th birthday, she was a big influence in my life, where I get a lot of my creativity.

Watching the Full moon rising over the city at dusk, almost getting locked into a graveyard....

Making a somewhat dreary Bridgid's cross by the river. My reeds were well battered and gathered from the pavement

And to top it off, I got to help our eldest move into a new studio space

All the while moving in the energy of Imbolc, new beginnings and the coming of the light, new life, new ideas and new energy...

Now it's time to rest and be quiet, along the way I lost my voice.
Speaking in whispers, minding my words, watching and listening.... for what is to come

Today
The sun is shining where I am.
Get out, breath.
Allow yourself to be.

January is tough, go easy, take time for yourself.

The end.

Beginnings

Today I moved into new therapy space, the next chapter.

So far, it has been a good day.
Getting to know the space, feel into it, and settle.

The morning was challenging, HulaHopp went out the window. And I got it back.
Moving and shifting can create a feeling of instability, disregulation, wobbles. Whatever you might want to call it.

This is OK, life can be wobbly, things move and shift all the time.
It's how you come back to regulation that counts.
Everyone gets disregulated, I know I do, even with all my training, skills, and knowledge on and in it.

What I don't do is beat myself up and give myself a hard time because of it.
I do, give myself a break, take a step back, breath into my belly, and Pause.
Creating space for my HulaHoop to come back, calling it back, back home to me and where it belongs, part of me.

Try it, see what happens.... call your HulaHoop back home.

Endings

I cleared out my old therapy room in December.
A slow ending. A slow beginning.

Moving on can be hard. It takes time, effort, and patience.
Especially at this time of year.
So, I am allowing myself to move slowly into a new therapy space.

Time to settle and allow all the ripples slow and work their way out to the edges.

At home, my HulaHoop is still on the wall, sparkly with decorations.
It's also time to take down the decorations, put the away for now. Knowing they are there, when the time comes again to take them out, dust off and go again.

Like therapy, sometimes there is a need to put things away for a while. They will always be there, that doesn't mean you have to be staring at them all the time.

Given space and time, they might look different next time you take them out.
Some you might not like or need it anymore.
Time to say goodbye. Throw it away. MOve on.

Next Chapter

What a beautiful little phrase.

As we step into the next chapter, 2026.

Look for the light.
We are still wintering, and there is no need for rushing into new things.

Take time, and spend it wisely.
Time to make choices that are for you, just as you are.

Love the light peaking through the bare trees, saying hello, it's ok, no need to rush.
Like a wee HulaHoop, ready to hold and expand, if you can take this time to Winter and let the seeds yoy planted do there thing.

Working on my HulaHoop.

Walked up Slieve an Iarainn
The view is amazing from up there, not a very long walk, more than enough to stretch out my HulaHoop this morning.

Gentle reminder to check your HulaHoop,

Where it is.
What is needed.
What size is it now.

How is your Hula Hoop?

Check your Hula Hoop, where it is, what's inside/outside. What you need to stay in your clear spacious Hula Hoop.

Let me know how you get on!

As you can see, there is a snowman in my HH.

Put there by someone else or by me, doesn't really matter, it's there.
I get to decide if I am OK with that. I get to choose to let the snowman stay or not.
It is my hula hoop.

Yesterday, I lost track of my HH and found myself way outside it. TooK some effort to get back in.
When I did, there was a "snowman" in it as well.

The Snowman was cold and icy, unwelcome even...Until I checked in with the Snowman. Asked why was he there? What did he need?
He was quiet and didn't want to speak at first. After some time and patience, I heard his story.

No longer cold & icy, now softer (could almost say melting) we decided it was ok to stay for a while, get to know each other a bit better.
Discover what is behind the story, the need, and how to meet the need.

The Datk Path. Cloud cover. Return of the Light.

At times, life can feel like you are walking in darkness, can't see the way ahead.
Trust is hard, believing the light will return is hard.

Hold on to hope, know the Light is there.
Even when you can not see it.

Keep coming back to your Hula Hoop.
Call it home, call all your parts home.

In the last 24hr I welcomed the return of the light on Tara yesterday and Loughcrew this morning.

Yesterday was bright and clear.
This morning, we walked a drak path to the Clouds, knowing the light was there.

Both refreshed and reset in differentt ways.
Both ways welcome and needed.

Different days/Different needs.

What do you need today?
