Clooz 5 has now been updated to support the release of the 1926 Census of Ireland. The census will be available online at the National Archives of Ireland website (https://nationalarchives.ie ) beginning midnight, April 18, 2026. The 1901 and 1911 templates for the Ireland census have also been updated to now provide pages for the Form B information (buildings and families). Both Form A and B images can be found on the archives website.

Version 4.2.3 of Clooz includes the updates needed to be compatible with the new Legacy Family Tree version 10. Given that Legacy is now free and Clooz directly works with the Legacy database, you might find it worth a look.

Version 4.2 has been released with some new features to help while using Clooz. A Media File Explorer tool has been added that identifies files on your computer you have not yet linked to a Clooz record. This should be useful for those using Clooz to catalog or index photographs, newspaper articles, etc. A new Repeat button for Sources that cites the Source from the previous Information Record again in the current Information Record (use when adding multiple Information Records from the same source). When selecting Subjects to link to an Information Record, you can now have the list display only those Subjects linked to recent Information Records. A template for the Netherlands Bevolkingsregister has been added. See the complete list in the help page after updating to the new version.

A new update for Clooz (v4.1.1) has been released. It provides a new column (No. Links) for display on the main screen lists of Subjects, Information Records, Sources, and Repositories showing the number of linked records. This would be the number of Information Records a Subject is linked to, the number of Subjects an Information Record is linked to, the number of Information Records citing a Source record, and the number of Sources linked to a Repository. This should be useful in sorting or filtering records to identify those not linked yet. UK census templates for 1891 and 1901 have been corrected to now include the Language Spoken column.

Clooz version 4.1 was released November 15th, adding 12 new report types (in addition to the 6 added in October), as well as a number of other template enhancements and improvements.
