Anybody who knows me knows how much I love my Mum 💙
We are very close, talking every day, often multiple times ~ she is the first person I share my news with, big and small.

What you may not know is Mum has schizophrenia. It hasn’t always been easy for her and it hasn’t always been easy for me. Luckily for us, love is both an anchor and a bridge that provides multitudes of grace and patience.

I believe schizophrenia is by and large misunderstood ~ and that which we cannot grasp and make sense of becomes that which we fear. However, Mum is the bravest and kindest person I know, and for as long as I can remember she has had a meditation practice.

This has been essential for her centering, grounding, and protecting herself ~ bringing clarity of mind and peace to her heart. Mum attributes much of her healing trauma to prioritising this practice.

I have often been told I have a calming voice and presence… this gave me the idea to record meditations ~ it feels like such a great additional Facing Inwards offering.

Mum requested a golden light protective meditation, as well as a step-by-step to letting go. I finally recorded them last week and I’m very excited to share them with you all. I added two extra ~ The Pillars of Peace 🕊️

An ode to expression + letting it out 💓
This sunset photo is one of my favourites, it was taken after an intense electrical storm.
We all know the feeling of build up in atmospheric pressure / humidity before a storm… it feels tense + heavy like an oppressive weight that presses us down… and then BOOM, the thunder rolls, the lightning cuts through and the rain pours.
And to be less poetic and more scientific the lightning discharges the electrical build-up, the ionosphere shifts as each lightning strike releases a billion volts and negative ions are released… the rain disperses charges and neutralizes the field and carries the energy downward, the rain is grounding and deeply nourishing for the earth.
When we have that emotional pressure build up and try to repress and keep it in, that energy has nowhere to go… but make no mistake, it will show up and wreak havoc in your body… an internal storm of chaos.
Our more intense emotions of grief + rage are sacred and beautiful expressions. They offer us a release point through which extraordinary light and clarity can shine after. For transformation you have to let the storm stir and shed… don’t fear it… revere it ✨

I’ve reflected that I might be in my mushroom era…
My new home naturally gets less sunlight, so I feel tucked away in the shadows.
I feel like darkness sometimes gets a bad wrap… we are conditioned to fear it, but what a gift it can be to sit in it + thrive.

Mushrooms are indeed magical 🧚‍♂️ they sprout unexpectedly and remind us that life persists.
They are also deeply interconnected in unseen ways, reminding us life persists, especially in darkness, with unity.
Trusting darkness allows for more beauty, depth and light ✨✨✨
