Before you speak, is it true? is it necessary? is it kind?
🤔
Sometimes speaking your truth can come at a ‘cost’, perhaps silence is better?
🤔
Even if true and necessary and delivered with compassion.
🤔
What do you do…?

So does it matter?? And yep I’ll make myself unpopular….
🤔
But firstly, this does not imply you need to change your current yoga teacher, who may be very experienced, completed various trainings, be intuitive and meet your current needs.
🤔
However the class or practices are not specifically tailored to you and your current physical, emotional, energetic or spiritual needs.
🤔
And here’s why…
A Yoga Therapist:
✅enquires about your current health and lifestyle, how you got to here, and where and how you may wish to change.
✅helps you to understand and address your current lifestyle issues (like too much stress), your health (perhaps a chronic health condition), an emotional issue (like depression, anxiety).
✅supports you as a person, not as your condition per se, to identify patterns, behaviours, practices in your life that could be modified or changed.
✅develops and adapts practices uniquely with you, based on all the teachings of yoga not just the physical, for you to practise independently and bring about change.

Some common myths:
⛔️Yoga Therapy is a bunch of adapted yoga poses.
⛔️Yoga Therapy is a quick ‘fix’ for an issue (like back pain).
⛔️All yoga is therapeutic.

Thanks Breathing Deeply for bringing regular reminders about yoga therapy into the world.

Finding ways to combat stagnation (as you age 😅) helps you stay healthier and more satisfied with your life.
😃
People who have positive relationships with others, good quality health, and a sense of control over their lives often feel more productive and happier as the years progress.
😃
Erik Erikson, an American psychoanalyst, discusses how ‘leaving your mark’ on the world through accomplishing in ways that make the world a better place, brings deep meaning as the years tick on.

Unwanted thoughts and behaviours are deep impressions in our subconscious mind.
👇
It takes time and repetition for a new pattern to replace them.
👇
With a combination of focus and willingness to persevere, we can override our unhealthy inclinations, to stay strong and clear in the face of change.
👇
And to sacrifice some comforts.
👇
Carrying a meaningful intention in our hearts helps us to grow in ways that brings more peace into the world.
