whats the ebook about
It’s a short, practical ebook focused on making exercise simple, realistic, and sustainable — especially if you’re just starting out or getting back into it.
In plain language, it covers:
• different types of exercise (so it’s not just “go to the gym or nothing”)
• how to start small and build up without burning out
• why daily movement matters (even outside the gym)
• the role of strength training for injury prevention, posture, and long-term health
• the importance of recovery, rest, and listening to your body
• setting simple, achievable goals
• building habits instead of relying on motivation

It’s written from an exercise physiologist’s point of view, but without jargon — more “here’s what actually works in real life” than strict programs or intense plans.

Quick reminder for anyone putting things off because of cost 👇

At Enhance Health Group, we bulk bill all clients with a valid referral.

That means no out-of-pocket expenses for exercise physiology services.

If you’ve been dealing with pain, injury, a chronic condition, or just don’t know where to start, support should be accessible — not another stress.

I also provide mobile sessions, so I can come to you at home or another suitable location.

If you’ve been unsure whether you can afford help, this might be your sign to ask the question.

Today is World Cancer Day.

For a lot of people, cancer isn’t a campaign or a ribbon — it’s personal.

It’s treatment, fatigue, uncertainty, and learning how to live in a body that’s been through a lot.

Exercise isn’t about “bouncing back”.

It’s about rebuilding strength, confidence and function at a pace that respects what someone has been through.

At Enhance Health Group, I work with people during and after cancer treatment using evidence-based exercise to support physical and mental health, safely and individually.

If you or someone you care about is navigating life after cancer, support doesn’t have to be intense to be meaningful.

World Cancer Day is a reminder that care continues well beyond diagnosis.

Something many injured workers don’t realise:
You have the right to choose your vocational rehabilitation provider.

If you’ve been injured at work and feel like rehab is being done to you rather than with you, it’s worth knowing that you are not locked into a provider you’re unhappy with.

Vocational rehabilitation should be about supporting recovery, capacity, and a safe return to work — not ticking boxes or rushing outcomes.

At Enhance Health Group, we’re an accredited Workplace Rehabilitation Provider in Western Australia and Tasmania. We work with injured workers, employers and insurers to make rehab practical, respectful and realistic.

If you’re unsure about your options, or just want independent advice about vocational rehabilitation, you’re allowed to ask questions and explore alternatives.

Yesterday I mentioned that everyone should aim to master a squat — and I still believe that. But if we’re talking about my personal favourite exercise, it has to be the bench press.

The bench press is one of the most effective ways to train the pectoralis major, anterior deltoids and triceps, with research showing it produces high levels of muscle activation when performed with a moderate grip width and controlled tempo (Barnett, Kippers & Turner, 1995). It’s also used in countless studies as the benchmark for upper-body strength, power and neuromuscular adaptation (Saeterbakken et al., 2017).

I love it because it’s simple, measurable and brutally honest — the strength you build on the bench transfers directly into pushing power, shoulder stability and overall upper-body function.

Employers — are you confident your injured workers are getting the right support to recover and return to work?

When one of your team members experiences an injury or health setback, the right rehabilitation partner can make all the difference. At Enhance Health Group, we work directly with employers, insurers, and treating practitioners to take the stress out of recovery and guide your employee every step of the way — from early intervention to sustainable return to work.

Many employers aren’t aware that their Salary Continuance or Income Protection policies already include funding for rehabilitation services such as:
✅ Vocational rehabilitation – planning, goal setting, and graded return to work programs
✅ Exercise physiology – building confidence, mobility, and capacity for physical roles
✅ Wellness and health coaching – managing mental health, pain, and resilience at work

By engaging EHG early, you can reduce time away from work, improve recovery outcomes, and demonstrate care for your employees when it matters most.

We understand that every workplace and every injury is different — which is why our programs are tailored to the individual, and we keep you informed throughout the process.

If you’re an employer who wants a hands-on, communication-driven partner to help your staff recover and return stronger, let’s chat.
