All of a sudden the Monarch caterpillars disappeared. I knew they were on walkabout, but they are often invisible during that time. Today they have found their spots and will incubate for 10 to 15 days, going through a process of full liquefication to rebirth and transformation. I don’t think there’s anything more beautiful and essential to embrace than the transformation of a butterfly. Let’s be butterflies.

Wow! We did it! And when I say WE, it was absolutely huge champion team effort!

From my incredible buddy on the ground, taking every footstep with me, to our rockstar coach, Shawn, the staff at every station and behind the scenes, the VOLUNTEERS with the cow bells ringing, music blaring, snack and hydration stations flowing, the emcees at the top and bottom of the mountain with humor and magic in every word, to EVERY climber who LEFT IT ALL ON THE MOUNTAIN, WE ARE CHAMPIONS!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

BUT it wasn’t just the people on the mountain with me. It was everyone of you following along. It was you who Loved my stories, listened to them, even when I said the same thing over and over and over again in my delirium, 😂 and sent me hearts and encouraging words and messages. it was you who donated to , it was the village children climbing in solidarity with me on Saturday morning as they trekked up 2800 feet at their local mountain. ⛰️!!!!

more later on my lessons learned. This post is to extend my gratitude and celebration of YOU. Whoever is reading this, know that you are loved beyond any measure you can dream of. You are an awesome human and YOU make a HUGE difference !!!!

See that bunkhouse under construction at ? That was from the summer of 2023. Not only is that one complete, but the final two are in their last planning stages.

A construction crew of eight are arriving in January 2025, donating 100% of their time and expertise to complete the project. UV covers the house materials and septic, $24,000 per house, so the kids have a beautiful place to live.

This is the village’s 10-year anniversary. They have created epic and unprecedented relationships in S**o, Ethiopia 🇪🇹 , working comprehensively with the local community, government, schools, and hospitals.

Uryadis Village sets the standard for what is possible when humans from all over the world come together to create the vision… a home and a family for babies, kids, teens, young adults with neurodiversity…a place the community can turn to for support…an inspiration for what is possible when LOVE is a VERB!

I haven’t felt this fit since I was a D1 collegiate athlete. I probably haven’t trained this hard since then either. 18 weeks of training complete. Two to go until we climb at Stratton, Vermont.

I invite you to join me on the mountain. I’m not just climbing for me. I’m climbing for the village!

I’ve been a part of in S**o, Ethiopia 🇪🇹 for four years, as a sponsor of two beautiful children, an advisor to the medical therapy team, and boots on the ground in the village. It’s a magical place where magic is truly needed.
