Ticks are small, spider-like creatures with either 6 or 8 legs. They feed on the blood of birds and mammals, including humans, and are commonly found in areas like woodland, moorland, grassy areas, and gardens.

If you do get bitten, you should:

âś… Remove the tick ASAP
âś… Wash your skin
âś… Apply an antiseptic cream
âś… Take a picture of the bite/rash

The safest way to remove a tick is to use a tick removal tool, or tweezers.

A small proportion of ticks carry Lyme disease. This gives the “bull’s eye rash”. Speak to a GP/HCP if develop a rash or start to feel unwell.
