This week Pilates for you my lovelies brings in the Pilates bands and turning the dial up gently on strength.

💜 Standing Pilates with bands
A proper warm up, balance work and strong leg focus. We build stability from the ground up, challenge your balance and really switch on that deep core strength. Stronger legs, better balance, more confidence.

💜 Mat Pilates with bands
Shoulder strength, upper body control and of course our faithful abs and back. Because we always, always look after the spine.

These sessions are a little more advanced strength wise, but you know me, clear cues, options throughout, no drama. Just intelligent movement that makes you feel fabulous.

Well… the boot is still on.

Which means of course I have uploaded more Pilates videos wearing it. Because why not.

This week there are two new sessions live:
• A standing Pilates workout for balance and strength
• A floor based core session
No equipment. Just controlled, intelligent movement and one rather determined woman in orthopaedic footwear.

It is a reminder that movement always finds a way. We adapt. We adjust. We carry on.

Most of you know… I’ve done a thing. Yes, the leg. Yes, the boot. Yes, the dramatic stair negotiations.

But we are moving forward. Quite literally.

We’re on half term this week so no Pilates classes, which feels very strange after still teaching through weather, sticks, and general chaos. Pilates does not stop in Devon.

We start back next week and I have a new warm up and a new vibe ready. Think reset energy. Foundations. Breath. Strength.

For the first week back just bring your mat. Nothing else. No bands, no weights, no extra kit. We are stripping it back properly.

In other news… I seem to have developed a bit of a reputation.

Not for the broken leg, hopefully

For Pilates retreats that are so good they sell out fast.

Greece has this grounded, warm, expansive energy and something shifts when you spend a week moving, resting and talking properly. Women arrive tired and leave different. I watch it happen every year.

Early bird pricing finishes this Friday and there is only one twin room left.

If you have been thinking “one day I’ll do that”… this might be your nudge.

It is not bootcamp. It is not performative wellness. It is real rest, real strength and very good food.

So… I’ve gone and done a thing 😅🩼

In an impressive display of enthusiasm, questionable footwear choices, and gravity being entirely unsympathetic, I’ve broken my fibula. Yes. I know.

What a plonka RODNEY!

The good news, I’m okay. Slightly slower, sporting a glamorous boot and crutches, but very much still me.

Pilates is continuing, just with a bit less demonstrating and a lot more bossy cueing. Turns out crutches are surprisingly useful for emphasis.

Coaching, meanwhile, requires no crutches whatsoever, which is handy. If anything, this enforced slowing down has been a timely reminder that movement isn’t always physical. Sometimes the real shift happens when you stop rushing, take stock, and choose what’s next a little more thoughtfully.

So if your body is moving but your head feels a bit jammed, coaching is very much open. If your body needs gentler movement, Pilates adapts beautifully. I clearly needed the reminder myself.

Practising what I teach, one wobble at a time.
Good thing, bad thing… who knows.

One lovely message I received this week said:
“You always make your teaching look so effortless and something complex feel easy to follow. Your sessions are personal, positive and motivating. I always come out feeling great.”

That pretty much sums up what these sessions are all about.
The latest uploads are ideal if you are busy, travelling, hosting or just want to move your body without leaving the house. Expect strength, mobility and feel good movement, along with my gentle encouragement, which is Pilates code for “one more”… and of course, “and now the other side” 😂
