Here is an infographic displaying what children’s injuries I have treated over the months leading up to the New Year.
Below is some information regarding some issues I have come across both online and in person.
They age from 8-17
79 in total
21 Severs Disease - Numerous Solemaids insoles provided.
7 Ankle/foot non severs
15 Knee issues
5 Hamstring
3 Hip issue
4 Calf issues
4 Concussion’s
3 Groin/Adductor issues
7 Quad/Thigh problems
6 Upper back or neck related
2 Shoulder issues
2 Wrist problem
75 out of 79 play some form of sport, or have a hobby its affecting. Predominately football. But it also includes swimming, athletics, tennis, rugby, playing a musical instrument, gymnastics and competitive video gaming.
57 out of 79 are boys.
Over 60/79 play football amongst other sports.
21/23 children who present with severs disease play football (non kicking foot mainly). 22/23 were boys.
13/15 knee issues are female. 6 ACL issues included in this.
Over half the girls I have seen have knee issues! And many others had quad/thigh problems.
3 injuries were broken bones.
I have been putting these infographics together for several years based on what I see in clinic. It’s evident to see that boys have far more heel issues, and females have more knee issues.
Would you like me to put together any information on specific injuries?
