Yoga therapy meets the body where it is, not where we think it "should" be.

Digestive health is deeply connected to the nervous system, especially in complex conditions like systemic sclerosis.

This case series highlights how individualized yoga therapy can support digestive regulation through gentle, adaptive practices that prioritize safety, comfort, and patient choice.

Sometimes the most effective work is the least forceful.

✈️ Preparing to teach internationally always slows me down, in a good way.

Yoga therapy doesn’t travel as a sequence or a system. What travels is listening: to nervous systems, environments, and lived experience.

As I prepare to teach in Hong Kong with the community at Hersha Yoga, the focus isn’t on delivering content, it’s on shared inquiry. How do we support regulation, safety, and participation when context and culture are different from our own?

Grateful for these spaces of learning and collaboration.

Pain is not just physical — and healing is never one-size-fits-all.

This visual represents whole-person, integrative care, where biological, psychological, and social factors are all part of the picture. True healing looks at how the body, mind, environment, and lived experience interact — not just symptoms in isolation.

At Soul to Soul Yoga, this approach deeply aligns with our work. Yoga therapy, mindfulness, nervous system support, and integrative movement are not “extras” — they are essential tools that support regulation, self-efficacy, and long-term wellbeing.

Healing happens when care is:
• Trauma-informed
• Individualized
• Multidisciplinary
• Centered on the whole human

There is no single path — only the one that honors you.

Siblings are deeply impacted when a child has a disability — yet their experience is often the quietest in the room.

Many families ask us where they can find support specifically for siblings. The truth is, those spaces are rare. That’s why we created one of the few sibling-centered resource pages on the Soul to Soul Yoga blog.

This page is intentionally focused on:
✔️ Understanding sibling stress
✔️ Supporting siblings without overwhelm
✔️ Honoring their voice and experience
✔️ Building connection and community

Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, or adult sibling, this space exists to remind you: you’re not alone — and siblings deserve support too.

Walking alongside families through change, challenge, and transition is at the heart of what we do. 🤍

Cheryl and the Soul to Soul Yoga team meet each child exactly where they are—honoring their unique personalities, nervous systems, and inner strengths. Through mindful movement, breath, and compassionate presence, children are supported in finding calm, confidence, and resilience in their own way and in their own time.

We are so grateful to be part of this family’s journey and to support children as they grow, regulate, and discover their inner peace.

Yoga therapy is often misunderstood as “gentle stretching” or a wellness trend.
But neuroscience tells a much deeper story.

Research shows yoga can alter brain structure, increase grey matter, regulate stress hormones, and improve neurotransmitter balance—particularly GABA, which plays a key role in mood and anxiety regulation.

This isn’t about forcing positivity or bypassing real mental health struggles. It’s about creating safe, accessible pathways back to regulation—especially for those who may not thrive in traditional exercise or talk-based therapies alone.

Yoga therapy meets people where they are.
And sometimes, that’s exactly what healing requires.

Follow for science-backed yoga therapy, nervous system education, and trauma-informed care.

Siblings of people with disabilities often grown up holding invisible roles -

Advocate, helper, observer, long before they have language for their own experience.

Many of us learn how to care deeply for others…
without learning how to care for ourselves.

Special Sib exists to name that reality and create space for reflection, support, and connection, for siblings at every stage of life.

January 28th I’m hosting a virtual sibling support webinar for adult siblings and family members. We’ll talk about sibling stress, identity, and how to show up for yourself without guilt.

This is a gentle space.
No fixing. No pressure.
Just conversation, validation, and practical tools.

January is often framed as a time to push harder, set bigger goals, and fix what feels unfinished.

But in yoga and occupational therapy, we begin somewhere else—with awareness instead of pressure. With regulation before resolution.
With listening before pushing.

This approach matters whether you’re navigating stress, caregiving, chronic illness, or simply trying to move through your day with a little more steadiness.

This year, I’m choosing slower. More honest. More human. Progress doesn’t have to be loud to be meaningful.

Sometimes the most therapeutic thing we can do is begin exactly where we are.

✨ I’m sharing more reflections like this on my new Substack—gentle insights at the intersection of yoga, occupational therapy, and real life.

Living with a chronic illness often means navigating changing energy, uncertainty, and emotions that aren’t always visible to others.

This month’s podcast creates space for an honest conversation about pacing, self-compassion, and redefining strength when your body asks you to slow down. It’s a gentle reminder that rest is not something you need to earn—you are already enough.

Our Story

We help people with special needs move and breathe better.

What is a special need? This can be a developmental disability (autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy), orthopedic conditions (osteo or rheumatoid arthritis, total joint replacements), or neurological disorders (traumatic brain injury, stroke, Parkinson’s disease).

Yoga is for all ages and abilities. We can adapt a practice for anyone.
