Will you help us celebrate Christmas in the Village?

Christmas in the Village is a great opportunity to help families in the Marks Village community in Birmingham, Alabama, to provide gifts for their families. Oak Tree Ministries provides a Christmas store that makes gifts available at affordable prices so that parents can shop for their own children. The money raised goes directly into ministry programs for the children!

Shop the Oak Tree Christmas in the Village wishlist to have items delivered directly to Oak Tree OR bring new toys (valued at less than $100, please) and gift wrapping supplies (wrapping paper, tape, and bows) to Smith Family Resources or to any of Oak Tree’s toy drive locations.

While supplies last, we plan to give Christmas grab bags to all our customers who bring toys or wrapping supplies to us. We’ve prepared gift bags with LMNT variety packs, Lauricidin spray hand sanitizer, Apple Valley Natural Soaps, and Beeyoutiful essential oils. Each bag holds just a little gift to thank you for being a part of Christmas in the Village. If you shop from the wishlist, please let us know and we’ll thank you with a digital gift or coupon code.

Four years ago, Smith Family Resources celebrated the grand opening of the Mitford Museum in a unique way. In October 2021, our meal planning service, HELP: Healthy Eating Lists & Plans, featured recipes inspired by Jan Karon’s Mitford Cookbook and Kitchen Reader. I wrote, “These recipes are full of the charm of our favorite fictional hometown but free of gluten, dairy, and soy!” This October we’ll share the Mitford-inspired recipes with our current HELP subscribers to celebrate the launch of Jan Karon’s My Beloved AND the Mitford Book Club’s discussion of the Mitford Cookbook!
